severity 295248 wishlist
merge 295248 268126
thanks

Dear Margarita,
it seems to me that you've confused 295248 (tex4ht: interested in
providing a patch for the upgrade) with some evolution bug.
I'm therefore resetting its severity back to wishlist.
Also, on this occasion, I am merging it with the current ITA on this
package.

Vassilii

Bug#295248: tex4ht -- LaTeX and TeX for Hypertext (HTML)

2005-02-17 Thread Vassilii Khachaturov
I am testing it now. The 1st problem discovered so far is that your version
numbering change causes dpkg to think that I am *downgrading*

20030426-3 -> 1.0.20050216.2023-1

whereas in fact it is an upgrade.

2005-02-17 Thread Vassilii Khachaturov
In the new package you've put up for alpha-testing, the new tex4ht.env
2005-02-03-00:56 doesn't use

Gdvipng %%1 -o %%3.png -pp %%2 -q -D123 -bd 2 -Ttight -fg "rgb 0.0 0.0 0.0"
-bg "Transparent"
Gmv %%3.png %%3

as suggested in another png generating open bug actually reported by you,
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=229569

but rather

G.png
Gdvipng -q -mode ibmvga -D 110 -o %%3 -T tight -pp %%2 %%1

is this better or worse than the line you've suggested in 229569? I'm not
familiar with the .env syntax yet or with the dvipng operation to judge.

You probably want to add the custom signature to list you as the debian
maintainer in the things like tex4ht.env and not the upstream. Double-check
with the lppl you don't violate it :)

With my existing documents the new version just doesn't work. The
known-problematic dvips sequence is being run instead, and all the embedded
formulae become unstripped of the HUGE white bounding box, just like in the
presently generated darcs docs (see bug #294459: HTML manual generated by a
broken tex4ht install).

When I reverted to the previous .env file (which is the default one with your
bug #229569 idea applied to it manually), things worked again with the new
tex4ht install.

If there is a way, please make the package auto-use the dvipng way of doing
things when it is installed, and also, if possible, make the dvips one
generate a normal bounding box as well...

V.

Bug#295783: login.app

2005-02-17 Thread Capsad
Package: login.app
Version: 1.2.1-18

I just installed login app and it didn't load properly, my x-server always
crashed. I found out, that there was no /usr/share/Login.app/Panel.xpm ,
which login.app normally loads, but there were 4 other pictures. I renamed
one to Panel.xpm, now login.app work fine, but I think it should work without
doing that.

I am using Debian GNU/Linux Sarge, kernel 2.6.10 and libc-2.3.2.

Bug#295787: should explain enabling modules without webmin-usermin

2005-02-17 Thread Charles Fry
Package: usermin
Version: 1.090-1
Severity: normal

README.Debian should explain how to enable modules without the use of
webmin-usermin. Something to the effect of:

The recommended mechanism for enabling modules is through the use of
webmin-usermin, which will also allow access control customization.
If you really want to do it by hand, simply add the name of the
module you wish to enable at the end of the "user:" line of
   /etc/usermin/webmin.acl.

Bug#295751: Err, sorry wrong bug

2005-02-17 Thread Micah Anderson
I accidentally changed the severity on this bug due to a mistype of
the bug number. However, it does appear as if this package is
orphaned, and it doesn't seem to be working... so perhaps this was a
good thing.
