Bug#251768: FTBFS: Missing Build-Depends libxt-dev

2004-08-26 Thread Thomas Bushnell BSG

reopen 251768
thanks

So this is a tricky problem; some buildd's are apparently not
installing package dependencies properly. I'm tracking the bug; if
you wish to work on it too, please coordinate with me.

Thomas

Outdated packages for contrib/non-free

2004-08-26 Thread Jeroen van Wolffelaar
Hello,

You are maintaining one or more contrib or non-free packages that are
currently on one or more architectures out of date. As long as that is
the case, the latest version of your package will not proceed to Sarge
automatically.

As contrib/non-free maintainer you're yourself responsable for getting
your package rebuild on all the architectures you're supporting. Over
time, a lot of these packages have collected builds for none of the
lesser used architectures, and now often nobody seems to really care
about these packages for these architectures anymore, holding up
progress to sarge this way.

I'd like to present soon a list to the ftp-masters of outdated
non-free/contrib packages that can have their obsolete architectures
removed. Of course I cannot just request removal of these packages
without the maintainer's consent, so please indicate asap that you're
okay with it! You can better write me personally as long as I've not yet
sent this list away, to prevent cluttering this mailinglist with lots of
removal requests -- something that it isn't meant to. Please indicate
any bugnumbers of bugs you've already filed, so they can be closed in
one go too.

If you have questions however, please do mail to an appropriate
mailinglist, and not to me personally.

Too much removals is not really a problem, if you can later find a
building for an arch, that one will be added without problems. However,
maybe the current version in testing have much more architectures, and
the sid version hasn't a worthwhile improvement, then you probably don't
want to remove packages for now...

Thank you for your cooperation,
--Jeroen

Bug#251768: pbuilder duplicates bug

probably duplicate it with pbuilder on other architectures.
