Bug#208090: A hierarchical display of songs (by, eg, artist) would be nice

2003-08-31 Thread Daniel Burrows
Package: easytag
Version: 0.28.1-2
Severity: wishlist

I'd like to be able to view the list of sound files in a two-level
tree. (the upper level could be artist, album, etc) The sorting
options give you something like this now, but it is rather difficult to
figure out where each group begins and ends. Of course, it should be
possible to apply commands to an entire subtree of songs.

Motivation: I have a number of ogg files which I encoded from CDs
without sufficient editing of the CDDB information. As a result,
I have muliple variants of some artists' names. For instance, before I
manually normalized some of the worst offenders, I had "Bach", "J.S.
Bach", and "Johann Sebastian Bach". (not to mention the pieces that
were listed by performer where the composer was more appropriate)

A program like easytag is the best way for me to deal with this, but
it would be even easier if this feature was available :)

2003-08-31 Thread Daniel Burrows
Package: easytag

As the subject says: whenever I exit easytag, a dialog pops up telling

Bug#208097: easytag: Please put the "Scan all" button back!

2003-08-31 Thread Nikolai Prokoschenko
Package: easytag
Version: 0.28.1-2
Severity: important

In the newest version of Easytag, upstream "cleaned up" the toolbars.
Result is, that the most useful button - "Scan all" has been removed.
Please put it back in, as it is a great help for reading tons of tags of
mass-renaming. Plus, the current method is to select all files and then
scan the selected files, which has a major usability problem: you can't
really follow the task proceeding!

Bug#208099: easytag: Menu bar messed up under non-English locale

2003-08-31 Thread Nikolai Prokoschenko
Package: easytag
Version: 0.28.1-2
Severity: important

If EasyTag is started under any locale other than English one (in my
case, I tried my default ru_RU.UTF-8 and de_DE.UTF-8) the menu bar is
completely messed up - Some menu items are under the Englishnamed
submenu and other under the translated submenu.
