intend to adopt calc, so does someone else--need advice
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Greetings, I'm an avid Linux user and programmer, and I'd like to become a Debian Developer. As the first step in this process, I'd like to take the calc source package and maintain it via a sponsor. I have downloaded it, updated the it against a more recent Debian Policy version. I also fixed the only bug against the package (a wishlist that there be a file included in the documentation). I have built the package, which is lintian clean, and tested on three different Debian machines of two different architectures; it's ready to go. Here's THE SNAG: I was sitting down to write to this list to request a sponsor, I thought I'd check the qa page for the package one more to make sure I hadn't missed anything. Bug 188998 is from David Rios ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) on April 14 saying that he intends to adopt it. I tried e-mailing him at that address, but it bounced with a "User Unknown" error. I looked in the Debian Developer key ring, and I don't think he's there. If anyone has any advice as to whether or not it would be ethical to pursue getting a sponsor and uploading this package, I'd appreciate it. Bug#187667: docbook-utils: FTBFS: breaks anjuta build on m68k, hppa
severity 187667 grave retitle 187667 jade: completely unusable on m68k thanks Package: jade Version: 1.2.1-29.2 Severity: grave I also tried to run jade on m68k (to build the documentation of the privoxy package) and I had to note, that jade on m68k seems to do simply nothing but exit with return value 1. I increased the severity of this bug report to "grave", because "the package is unusable" on m68k. For example: $ jade -ihtml -t sgml -D.. -d ldp.dsl#html -iuser-man -V nochunks user-manual.sgml $ echo $? 1 (on i386 this prints the HTML version of user-manual to stdout). Currently I don't know how to debug this more, because strace on m68k seems not to have much effect... -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Kernel Version: Linux crest 2.2.20 #3 Sat May 25 00:01:41 CEST 2002 m68k unknown unknown GNU/Linux Versions of the packages jade depends on: ii libc6 2.3.1-17 GNU C Library: Shared libraries and Timezone ii libgcc13.3-0pre5 GCC support library ii libsp1 1.3.4-1.2.1-29 Runtime library for James Clark's SP suite ii libstdc++5 3.3-0pre5 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii sgml-base 1.17 utilities to maintain SGML catalog files Tscho Roland -- * [EMAIL PROTECTED] * http://www.spinnaker.de/ *
Bug#191886: jade: relocation error: jade: undefined symbol: _ZTI8DssslApp
Package: jade Version: 1.2.1-29.1 Severity: important I run a testing machine, and I upgraded to the latest version of jade from unstable with # apt-get install jade/unstable After that, I had on my machine: jade1.2.1-29.1 libsp1 1.3.4-1.2.1-28 When running jade, I would get: Using catalogs: /etc/sgml/catalog Using stylesheet: /usr/share/sgml/docbook/utils-0.6.12/docbook-utils.dsl#html Working on: /tmp/NiceRecognizer.sgml jade: relocation error: jade: undefined symbol: _ZTI8DssslApp It seems that jade now needs a newer version of libsp1. I upgraded to 1.3.4-1.2.1-29.1 and the problem disapeared. Please make jade depend on that version of libsp1. Thanks. -- System Information Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux blanche 2.4.19 #2 Sat Mar 1 18:19:36 CET 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages jade depends on: ii libc6 2.3.1-16 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:3.3-0pre5 GCC support library ii libsp1 1.3.4-1.2.1-29.1 Runtime library for James Clark's ii libstdc++5 1:3.3-0pre5 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii sgml-base 1.17 utilities to maintain SGML catalog
