It seems that the program(s) doing the login/authentication (from the login/pam packages?) has (have) a problem with the parsing of splitted lines in the group file, but newgrp (login package) does not seem to have it? A fix depends on whichever of login/pam/linuxconf one may judge to be the `culprit', but maybe fixing linuxconf to write `proper' lines to /etc/group is the easier fix ... gc --- Received: (at 93202-done) by bugs.debian.org; 5 Dec 2002 02:51:34 + >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Dec 04 20:51:22 2002 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from jagor.srce.hr [161.53.2.130] (root) by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.12 1 (Debian)) id 18Jm6j-0002hI-00; Wed, 04 Dec 2002 20:51:22 -0600 Received: from fuzz.uucp (a1531.cmu.carnet.hr [193.198.140.92]) by jagor.srce.hr (8.12.2/8.12.2) with ESMTP id gB52o7U7023384 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Thu, 5 Dec 2002 03:50:10 +0100 (MET) Received: from mvela by fuzz.uucp with local (Exim 3.36 #1 (Debian)) id 18Jm6b-69-00 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Thu, 05 Dec 2002 03:51:13 +0100 From: Matej Vela <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Bug#93202: fixed in linuxconf 1.18r1 Date: 05 Dec 2002 03:51:13 +0100 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Lines: 5 User-Agent: Gnus/5.09 (Gnus v5.9.0) Emacs/21.2 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Sender: Matej Vela <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Virus-Scanned: by amavisd-milter at jagor.srce.hr Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-0.5 required=5.0 tests=SPAM_PHRASE_00_01,USER_AGENT version=2.41 X-Spam-Level: Quoting the upstream changelog for 1.18r1: Group edition: member list /etc/group is not rewritten using to break long lines.
