Bug#148626: svgalib: FTBFS: self-dependent

2002-05-31 Thread Daniel Schepler
Package: svgalib
Version: 1:1.4.3-9
Severity: serious
Tags: sid

When I try to build svgalib from source, the build fails with:

cc -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -fomit-frame-pointer -O2 -fno-strength-reduce
-pipe -I../include -I/home/daniel/src/debian/s/svgalib/svgalib-1.4.3/src
-L/home/daniel/src/debian/s/svgalib/svgalib-1.4.3/sharedlib -o restorefont
restorefont.o -lvga -lm
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lvga
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [restorefont] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory
`/home/daniel/src/debian/s/svgalib/svgalib-1.4.3/utils'
make[1]: *** [textutils] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/daniel/src/debian/s/svgalib/svgalib-1.4.3'
make: *** [build-stamp] Error 2

The previous version compiled fine. It seems that the 'sharedlib'
directory referenced above contains libvga.so.1.4.3 but no libvga.so
symlink when this occurs.

(I'm having debbugs Cc to the NMU'er.)

Thanks for the report. Probably I know, where the problem is. My fault.
:(
I'll upload a fixed version tomorrow.

It's not necessary. I receive svgalib bugs via PTS.

Best Regards,

Robert

xmp's orphaned, and nobody's stepped up to maintain it yet. If you're
interested ...?
