Bug#140551: FTBFS: Build failure of jikespg on i386: please add build-depends.

2002-03-30 Thread Junichi Uekawa
Package: jikespg
Version: 1.2-2

jikespg fails to build from source on i386, when doing a binary-all build.

I am just filing this bug to notify you that I failed to build your
package from source, using a very simplistic program called pbuilder.

at least debhelper is missing from build-depends field

Build log follows:
===
dpkg-buildpackage: source package is jikespg
dpkg-buildpackage: source version is 1.2-2
dpkg-buildpackage: host architecture is i386
 fakeroot debian/rules clean
dh_testdir
make: dh_testdir: Command not found
make: *** [clean] Error 127

Hi,

here's a bit improved description:

This package contains a script which sends information about the data
type to the storage server. This information allows the storage-server
to know which kind of data (strings, integer, etc.) an agent will send
to him.
.
In other words, this scripts notifies the storage server about the
presence of an agent and the kind of data it will be report.

Hi,

here's a suggestion for an improved description:

Logtrend agents which can't contact the storage server, can be
configured to send an e-Mail to a particular address.

The MTA for this mail address must be configured to pipe mails to the
address to this perl module, which then sends the information (alarms or
data) to the storage server.

Thanks for considering.

Christian

Hi,

here's a suggestion for an improved description:

Log trend supports two different alarm types: One type is generated
by the agents when a services goes down. The other type is generated by
this module if a defined rule matches an current event.
.
This module allows to write equations based upon events. If an event
matches such a defined equation, this module will send out an alarm.

Thanks for considering.

This perl daemon will test webserver with http requests and sending
the status information to the logtrend-storageserver. It allows to
create reports for each VirtualHost if the daemon supports this
feature.

Hi,

here's a suggestion for an improved description:

This daemon collects some data about a linux box. This mean which
devices are mounted, the cpu usage, the average load, the disk usage,
etc. This information is then send to the storage server.

In Depends, "snort" should be "snort | snort-mysql", otherwise
"apt-get install logtrend-snortagent" wants to remove snort-mysql.

Package: logtrend-visuengine
Severity: grave

The file rgb.txt is not included in the distribution which make the application
fails to load.
Added to that, the path for that file is fixed in the code
(/usr/share/perl5/LogTrend/Visu/Utils.pm:81

Workaround is to symlink the file for version 0.81-2, or to use new upstream
version 0.82 which adds
an XML tag RGBFile.
