Bug#469627: qa.debian.org: mention existence of help or gift tagged bugs on the PTS page

2008-03-06 Thread Y Giridhar Appaji Nag
Package: qa.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-

Currently a wnpp RFH bug is indicated on the PTS page of a package under
the "Problems" section. It would be nice to see bugs with the help tag
and gift usertag [1] mentioned somewhere too. However, I am not sure if
"Problems" is the right place for this.

Thanks,

Giridhar

It's probably better to only add support for bugs tagged help. The "gift
tag" idea doesn't seem to have been successful.

Yea, I queried and found no bugs that were gifted :(

Personally, I quite like the idea of the gift tag. Lots of people who
want to contribute are confused about where to start (like I was when I
started and later realised that bugs are the best way to go about it).
And it is quite likely that beginners won't know much about usertags
when they start off, so summarising "gifts" on a prominent place like
the PTS page would be good.

Me too, or I wouldn't have initiated this stuff :)

It's clearly too difficult to start contributing to Debian. But there
are so many things to change that it's difficult to know where to start.

Well, if someone writes the code for bugs tagged help, it won't be hard
to write the code for bugs usertagged gift as well.

RFS: QA Upload: orange -- extracts CAB files from self-extracting installers

2008-03-06 Thread Barry deFreese

Hi folks,

Here is a QA upload for orange now. Thomas was able to fix the zip
issue so that is included as well.

If someone has time to review and/or upload I would appreciate it.

Thank you!
