One important skill of a FOSS developer/contributor is to know when to stop and saying "no". Anyway, I also think I won't make a difference when the whole system (Debian) is against me. There is much more to do then just updating wiki pages. I do respect the docracy but there are limits. And that is where the project management should be somehow involved.

Requests to join DPT haven't been processed for months
Hi, one of the GSoC candidates I'm mentoring hasn't had his request to join the team processed for a month. I then checked and unless I'm mistaken, *no*( requests filed in 2024 have been processed. At least, all threads I could find are as of yet unanswered. Some of the requests were already accompanied by contributions, so it would be a extra shame to have these contributors move on. Is there any way I (or anyone else) can help with this? Best, Christian

See https://salsa.debian.org/groups/python-team/packages/-/group_members?sort=access_level_desc . : we have 5 "owners" in python-team/packages , and lots of "maintainer"s . IIRC only owners can add new maintainers or developers. (Please correct me if I'm wrong here.) Hope this helps. (Sorry, I lack the time to do more on this (pretty painful!) problem). Bye, Joost

Re: New upstream version for python-pint
I've packaged font-awesome5 at work, for sure it's not in Debian. The upgrade to v5 was rightfully reverted but it's in limbo since. https://packages.debian.org/sid/fonts-font-awesome fonts-font-awesome (5.0.10+really4.7.0~dfsg-4.1) <-- Please note that this package provides Font Awesome 4 (not Font Awesome 5 or Font Awesome 6 which are different fonts with different licensing).
