Fwd: keyman-config is marked for autoremoval from testing

2021-09-28 Thread Eberhard Beilharz

Hi,

I got the email below which I don't understand. /keyman-config/ doesn't
have any -dbg packages AFAICT.

So - what do I have to do?

Thanks,
    Eberhard

Indeed, the mail says that *python-gevent* has such -dbg package, and
you depend on it.

> So - what do I have to do?

I suppose in this case it's easier to just wait for gevent's maintainer
to fix it.

I don't think you need to worry of this not happening in time for the
bookworm release.

keyman-config build-depends on a package which depends on python-gevent
(likely python3-gi). As the bug title describes, it is python-gevent
which is affected and which has the -dbg package that needs to be
removed.

https://packages.debian.org/unstable/python3-gevent-dbg

> So - what do I have to do?

Nothing.

You are being notified in case your own scripts or systems expect to
install keyman-config from testing - at some point, that may fail -
depending on when python-gevent is fixed.

Once python-gevent is uploaded with a fix for the bug, packages which
were removed from testing due to the bug will migrate back into testing
automatically.

RFS: still looking for sponsor for new version of sentry-python (#990519)

2021-09-28 Thread Eberhard Beilharz

Hi,

I'm still looking for someone who'd be able and willing to upload the
new version of sentry-python (1.4.2). The version currently available in
Debian (0.13.2) is not compatible with the latest version of the Sentry
server and thus breaks any software that depends on the 1.x version.

Or what is missing that prevents someone from moving this forward?

Thanks,
    Eberhard

did you contact the current maintainer about this? Adding William to
the recipients list

This package repository is hosted on the Debian Python Team salsa
group, at https://salsa.debian.org/python-team/packages/sentry-python
while you're proposing an upload outside of this setup via Mentors.
It's usually inappropriate to seek outside sponsors for
team-maintained packages, because that tends to leave the canonical
git repo outdated, forcing people to do extra work to reconcile
history.

Please submit a MR for the upstream, pristine-tar, and master branches
(one MR for each branch) with your changes on salsa, and we can review
them.

Is there someone willing to upload this package ? It was waiting for

Request to join the team

2021-09-28 Thread Phil Morrell
Hi all, I've been lurking on the list for a while as several important
applications I use are written in python and I hope to package e.g.
mautrix-signal. Right now if I am part of the team, I can help with
lexicon and backports.

I have read and accept policy.rst and my salsa login is "emorrp1".
