Re: Please add me to the team
* Laszlo Kajan , 2012-08-09, 18:58: You seem to use svn with mergeWithUpstream. This is how the majority of packages are at the Deb Med team as well. I hope you do not mind if I place the package - librcsb-core-wrapper - into the Debian Med repository? I'm confused. I think he's checking that it's OK to get help here with some packaging that won't live in the DPMT repository. That's presumably fine, but if he's not sure, it's polite to ask. -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Dear Jakub! The reason is that I am as yet undecided about where to put the package. I wanted to start working on it, and so I have - for now - injected it into the Debian Med repo. But sometimes the Debian Med group decides that packs are better off in their specialized teams. I think this pack is one of those, it probably should be with the Python team. Hi Laszlo, On Fri, Aug 10, 2012 at 12:43:51PM +0200, Laszlo Kajan wrote: > But sometimes the Debian Med group decides that packs are better off in their > specialized teams. That's probably a bit missleading wording. There is no such decision making process in the Debian Med team - we adopted the general Debian Do-O-cracy principle. So I previousely *suggested* to contact the Perl team for some pure Perl package and if I remember the Perl team had some good arguments to stick to them. > I think this pack is > one of those, it probably should be with the Python team. I personally don't mind very much about the team - the main point is that there is any team behind a package that really cares. As far as I can tell you are welcome on any Debian mailing list to ask for advise about packaging issues if it is on topic and having the code for packaging in the according repository is not mandatory. Re: pythonX.Y maintenance team
* Jakub Wilk , 2012-04-13, 20:24: That said, I don't believe that forcibly changing the maintainer of Python interpreter packages is the correct course of action. I'm not personally happy with the way they are maintainer, but it's not nearly as bad as to justify such action. I have changed my mind. It is _that_ bad. A new maintainer for the Python interpreter packages is urgently needed. -- Jakub Wilk signature.asc Description: Digital signature
