Do you intend to put it into buster? (probably yes :)
If so, please file unblock request for it.

Hi, Jonas. Long time no see from NYC :)

Yes, yes. I know poppler-data and cmap-adobe* has duplicated mapping data.
 - cmap-adobe comes from the highest upstream (Adobe), but no versioning scheme
   for release.
 - poppler-data bundles some cmap-adobe code to make it easier to use.
And other distros (like Fedora or so) also use poppler-data.

Since I'm poppler-data package maintainer, I want to continue to keep it.
poppler-data - It's simple, package name compatibility with other Distro.

Poppler project does just gathering CMap data from Adobe, so it is almost
same thing as Adobe does. Not better, but not worse.

Poppler-data is installed by most users who needs adobe-cmap-* and gs-cjk-
resource packages, if poppler-data can provide files from those, users don't
need to install another package, so they can handle packages much easier.
Just install poppler-data by default, and that's all - it's benefit for users.

 Okay, make it to Suggests.
