Install on an old PowerMac quad went smoothly however the system will
not boot. I merely see the flashing Mac symbol in the center of the
blank screen where it seems there is no bootable filesystem found.

I did use the "guided" partition approach.

Somewhat mystified by this result.

It will stay a mystery unless you provide me with the installation log :-).

Please send me the log, so I can see what's wrong.

yes yes I know the drill :)

I was somewhat tired and perplexed last night and was also working with
the sparc64 server too. So I pulled the plug on the ppc64 boxen and
simply figured I would work on that today. I have to recall a little
netcat stuff but I figure I can get the logs out of there tonight.

Please hold .. technical service monkeys are working on this :P

Was that a powerpc or ppc64 installation?

Either way, looking forward to the log file.

ppc64 big endian. Working on that tonight. What log files should I
look for? I don't want to have to go searching wildly later.

Also I will get a ppc64le install going tonight.

I can try RISC-V tomorrow. That should be a treat given that I don't
know a damn thing about u-boot. :)

So the parted_server issue affects 32-bit PowerPC only. Good to know.

Just /var/log/syslog or - after the installation - /var/log/installer.

Please post that to debian-ri...@lists.debian.org.

For you Sir I have two things found in /var/log.

See attached.

Sure enough the machine rebooted to a blank screen with a curious
lost and confused where is my operating system system. :)
