I'll add those next, but it might take some weeks.

The version number of the quake3 package is: 1.33-svn20051104 to reflect
the numbering at icculus.

I think you really should join the debian-in-workers mailing list
(http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/debian-in-workers)

Here are gathered most of the people working on Indic languages
support in Debian, including of course localization (Localization of
Debian Installer in Bengali has started)

Unless you already joined, of course..:-)

Cool! Please read the Debian Mentors FAQ at
http://people.debian.org/~mpalmer/debian-mentors_FAQ.html ; it will help
you getting started.

Menu problems

2005-11-19 Thread Daniel Milstein
For some reason, after I install a desktop file to /usr/share/applications and
run dh_desktop in debian/rules, the desktop file will not appear in the menu
after the package is installed. What might I be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Daniel Milstein

Do you have package desktop-file-utils installed? Check
/var/lib/dpkg/info/ for your postinst script .. it conditionally calls
usr/bin/update-desktop-database.

Re: Menu problems

2005-11-19 Thread Daniel Milstein
Nevermind; I figured it out.

For those searching through the archives, the problem was that KDE did not
have all of the menu categories listed at freedesktop.org in its system. In
addition, KDE needed "Applications" to be in Categorie.

RFS: freedroidrpg

2005-11-19 Thread Daniel Milstein
I was wondering if anyone would be interesting in sponsoring the freedroidrpg,
an isometric RPG partially inspired by the classic game Paradroid, which is
licensed under the GPL 2. Its ITP bug number is 339896 and the package can be
found at http://geocities.com/vze49jxa. It is lintian and linda clean. Its
upstream source is http://freedroid.sourceforge.net.

Thanks,
Daniel J. Milstein

RFS: singularity

2005-11-19 Thread Daniel Milstein
Hello,

I just finished packaging singularity, a strategy game where one is an AI that
tries to become the singularity, and I was wondering if anyone would be
interested in sponsoring it. It is released under the GPL and its ITP number
is 339984. The package is availible on mentors.debian.net.

Long description:
You are an AI. Your goal is to acquire the necessary knowledge to
become the singularity. You do this by building and taking over
computers, whose processing power you can use for research, and by
using robots, which allow you to manipulate the outside world. At the
same time, you must ellude the notice of humankind, who will destroy you
if they find out about your existance.

Thanks,
Daniel Milstein
