Problem with zombie directory created on package install
Hi, I've packaged a ksplash startup screen (ksplash-nouvola). The package can be found here: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/k/ (or on mentors in general). It works but I am unable to solve small issue. The content of the package shall install to /usr/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/Nouvola directory, and so it does, however when you list /usr/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/ you would see that among "Nouvola" there's empty "nouvola" directory created as well. I am recently unable to find out the reason it appears here. Any suggestions what did I do wrong? Regards, -- "Daddy, what "Formatting drive C:" means?"... Marcin http://wfmh.org.pl/carlos/

With some delay; but a version of the package can be found on http://scorpius.homelinux.org/~marc/debian/ (I saw that there was some activity in this 'lost' directory; so here goes again)... Still looking for someone to upload if interested. Shoot, I really should look into becoming a deb. dev. myself, since I am maintaining a number of packages for about 2 yrs now... :-/ -- greetz, marc It's a Jerry Springer kind of family. RFS:cross-compiler package
I am building some cross-compilers using the crosstool scripts (http://kegel.com/crosstool/) and I think that they are generally useful to Debian. The source package is name crosstool and it produces the gcc-powerpc and gcc-powerpc64 packages. Should add more as soon as possible. The crosstoll scripts are licenced under the GPL. The packages can be downloaded from ftp.las.ic.unicamp.br/pub/crosstool Currently I am trying to correctly strip the binaries. Other things in the TODO are 1) check the build-depends 2) use all debian's patches to binutils, gcc, glibc and the kernel. 3) use only debian's patchs (it is a bug if a debian package does no cross-compile, right?) 4) add more archs. Thanks for any comment. Rafael

Creating / making ISO from scratch
Sorry if this has been posted before. Just downloaded Slackware 10 (all four cds) and have it installed on my system currently (along side Windows XP). Instead of installing via the 4 CDs, what I want to know is if there is a way to make single DVD iso / disk? I've searched other forums and the web a bit but could not find anything concrete. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
