RE: Re: Kernel 2.6 and Dell Inspiron laptop

2003-11-07 Thread Stan Pinte

hello, you posted recently that excellent kernel, that works for me on a Dell
inspiron 5150, latest bios update (A26). ACPI works as well!

Could you please give my your kernel config, just in case I would like to
recompile it in the future?

thanks a lot,

Stan.

The newest is this:
2.4.22-20030803-marlow
- this is not an initrd package.
- pre10-ac1 patch.
- acpi patch (20030730) is included. Support for custom DSDT table, if
needed.
- bcm5700 driver (6.2.11)
- bcm4400 driver. This is needed for the Notebooks, that have Broadcom
NICs, but 10/100 only (like Inspiron 1100, 5100, 8500).
- i2c and lm-sensors 2.8.0 included.2.4.22-20030803-marlow

ftp://debian.marlow.dk/dists/woody/kernel/pool/thor_-_Dell_Latitude_D-600/
kernel-image-2.4.22-20030803-marlow_2.4.22-2_i386.deb

I am looking at a Thinkpad R40.
I confirm that is the case with a Thinkpad A31, using APM the
suspends/resume even works under X!

a revolution!

CONFIG_SOFTWARE_SUSPEND problem when resuming

2004-02-28 Thread Stan Pinte
hello,

I used the CONFIG_SOFTWARE_SUSPEND in kernel 2.6.3, on a Dell inspiron 5150.

It works all right, and resume pretty fast to X-session (no problem with DRI,
etc), but my root filesystem is mounted in read-only mode...so that nothing
works anymore, like the network, etc.

Any idea what might be the issue?

Any idea how I could give more info?

I'll submit a bug to kernel-source-2.6.3

Thanks a lot,

Stan.
