Re: I am stucked: Parallel CD-Rom
I have been thru this. You will need paride, plus two other drivers depending on the device your are trying to connect. Then you must run a shell script to write the special device files on your system. I will go find the FAQ I used. For you. Actually I think I posted it on this list earlier this year. I remember I got an e-mail in german as a reply. Still don't know what that one was about. >> Original Message << On 05/08/2001, 7:19:26 PM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Bernd Dau) wrote regarding I am stucked: Parallel CD-Rom: > Hi, > I am stucked. > I am trying to connect a "Freecom Power CD" to my Toshiba 210CS > I tried the nearly all options of modules could reach, like pcide, -> > frpw->pcd > I played with Parport_pc also. > Ok with the right IO parameters and irq the CD-ROm is nearly mountable but it > does not complete successfully. > Always says things, like errors (I didn't wrote them down) but in case of > question I could copy this by hand typing in the list. > Ok I understand there are so many versions out of these drives, but does > anybody have a suggestion out of the box? > The System is Potato R3 > regards Bernd > -- > Schon "die Software Rebellen" gelesen? -- gut geschrieben, sehr umfassend. > -- > To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > with a subject of "unsubscribe". Re: laptop boot image?
I am guilty of this too! But try to boot and write the error down. Then post it. Re: low memory debian
Is there still one on the 2.2 cd? I thought I read somewhere that debian no longer supported that. I will check the disk when I go home. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Original Message <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< On 03/23/2001, 8:19:50 AM, Alexander Clouter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote regarding Re: low memory debian: > On Thu, 22 Mar 2001, Rod Young wrote: > > > > Any way I can build a low memory install disk? > > > by typing (as root) > dd if=/mnt/cdrom/path/to/low/mem/disk/on/cd of=/dev/fd0 bs=1k conv=sync; > sync > this will make you one low memory boot disk :) > Alex -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
