touchpad on travelmate

2003-01-02 Thread Lars Stollenwerk

Hello!

The touchpad of the acer TravelMate 220 works fine with gpm and X using
the ps2 protocol. But the "scroll" buttons that correspond to the wheel of
a mouse don't work under X. If I try to use the ImPS/2 protocol, the mouse
behaves strange and jumps around.

Maybe it is helpful if I cite the correspondeing section of
/etc/XF86Config-4:

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Configured Mouse"
Driver "mouse"
Option "CorePointer"
Option "Device""/dev/gpmdata"
Option "Protocol" "PS/2"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "true"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection

i830M resolution

2003-01-04 Thread Lars Stollenwerk

Hello!

My Acer TravelMate has an Intel 830M graphics chip. With the 2.4.18 Kernel
(agpgart included) and XFree86 4.2.1 (driver i810) I get nice pictures.
But if I connect an external monitor to the notebook, both displays work
at wrong resolutions. As far as I know, it should be possible to set the
resolutions of both displays independently. It even should be possible to
show different contents on both displays. Does anyone know, what is
possible under Linux, and how?
