apt-getable 2.6 kernel snapshots [Fwd: snapshots archive]
Hello, This may be useful for people who would like to try out if the latest kernel helps to overcome kernel/driver related problems on laptops. Currently it builds s390, powerpc and i386 binaries. If someone is willing to spend some (or better, much) cpu power to build other arches, he may ask for upload permissions or w-b access. Loss of hardware acceleration after fglrx upgrade to 8.28.8-0.1 in sid on a Thinkpad T43

Presumably you have a Savage/IX /MX video card (My T20 has this one), did you use this patched version of X-server instead of the one from the original debian distribution? http://www.probo.com/timr/savagemx.html It should work. > > I've tried modifying the XF86Config with different protocols - "PS/2", > "Microsoft", and "Intellimouse". > I've tried modifying the device in XF86Config - "/dev/psaux", "/dev/mouse", > "/dev/gpmdata" > I've tried with and without "Emulate3Buttons" Setting the device to /dev/psaux works fine for my T20. Apparently /dev/gpmctl gone missing and I was not able to get in back. I was told that it may be a pipe but creating it manually doesn't work. Anyone has any such experience or the answer? Undefined symbols in pcmcia modules in potato
Dear all, I installed pcmcia-modules-2.2.17_3.1.20-2k1 and there was a number of "undefined symbols" messages when the pcmcia modules are inserted. The problems seems to be a kernel incompatibility. The package page at debian says that it's for kernel 2.2.17 package version1:2.2.17-1 but the kernel image is kernel-image-2.2.17 2.2.17pre6-1. Has anyone encounter this before? Will there be a compatible kernel image soon or maybe I got it wrong somewhere? Regards, ST --

If I could just get it to connect to the Internet via Does the winmodem work out of the box with this unstable installation? In particular, what version of ppp is it using? [snipped] Regards, ST --
