Ugly web pages on satellite 2060cds
Hi, I'm running woody (custom 2.4.18) on a Toshiba 2060cds. It has a S3 Virge/MX Graphics card Some times when I load a webpage on opera or galeon (XFree 4.1.0-16), parts of the page are just noise (random color dots following no pattern at all). When I scroll the page up un down the noise usually disappears only to appear at a diferent place. I'm guessing a misconfigured video board but don't know what to do. Any ideas? CU hugo

Framebuffer on toshiba
I've been trying to get de frame buffer working on my toshiba 2060, I've recompiled my kernel (2.4.18) with VGA text console and video mode selection support enabled. I also have the vga=ask option in lilo.conf. When I boot and I'm asked to choose a mode I've tried several 800x600 and a few 640x480 all i get is a blank screen (the backlight is on but the screen is dead). The system boots (i see de HD light going on and off) but i cant see a thing. Any ideas thanks PS: I know it is possible to do this because knoppix gets it working pefectly.

Hibernation on compaq presario 1200
Hi: Does anyone have a success story of hib. on a presario 1200? Or at least a story? :). Thanks. hugo
Re: Hibernation on compaq presario 1200
That's the way I have it running right now. But the thing is that when it comes out of hib. I can't go back to my X session. I think it is a problem with the video card or the PCI bus. If i go into hib. without X running, when I resume and try to start X I get the following output. Pcmcia card going off too early
Hi: I've got a pcmcia ethernet card on my laptop wich runs woody, it works quite well but i'm having a little problem during suspend to ram operations. I'm using APM and when i press the power button or type apm -s the apm daemon runs the scripts in /etc/apm/ and then the laptop suspends. The problem is that as soon as I press the button or enter the apm -s command, the pcmcia card goes off, even before the before mentioned scripts are ran. There are certain operations (loging off the cluster) that are executed by the /etc/apm/ scripts and that need for the eth0 to be up, but as the card is already turned off these operations fail. I've solved this by writting a small script that runs these operations and then does the apm -s. But I would like to be able to press the power button and forget about it. So the question is where do I configure the time for the pcmcia card to go off?. see you hugo

About the BIOS upgrade I did that a month ago, at that time I didn't have the cluster around so I didnt care much about the time the pcmcia was going off. Anyway I'll google some more. Thanks for the answer. hugo

-- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Hibernation on compaq presario 1200
Hi: Does anyone have a success story of hib. on a presario 1200? Or at least a story? :). Thanks. hugo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
So the question is where do I configure the time for the pcmcia card to go off?. see you hugo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? About the BIOS upgrade I did that a month ago, at that time I didn't have the cluster around so I didnt care much about the time the pcmcia was going off. Anyway I'll google some more.
