Well, that's not exactly true.. make-kpkg will happily create an initrd
for you. apt-get install kernel-package if you haven't already,
it's a must when building a kernel on a debian system.

I think the one you'll find you're having problems with is likely:

DRM_GAMMA

Just turn it off if you don't need it.

Well, someone had else had the correct answer, look for CONFIG_GAMMA, in
your .config, and disable it. I wasn't thinking quite right.

You can edit your .config directly, I do it all the time. Just make
sure to do a:

make oldconfig

afterwards.

This is perhaps the case with 2.4 kernel. 2.6 kernels have cramfs
included in the vanilla kernel.

Oh okay, perhaps make-kpkg is just handling things for me in the
background. Because it just seems to work. *shrug*

True, and I was the one who told him. However it wasn't clear to me
that he was using make-kpkg, thus best to cover all bases.

powerbook, airport and kismet

2003-07-23 Thread Dale Harris

So has anyone gotten kismet to work on a Powerbook, typical errors I get
is "monitor mode" is invalid for my card. However, MacStumbler seems to
work just fine in OS X. I'm using Ben H's latest stable kernel
2.4.22-pre4-ben0.
