Dell Laptop with Potato
Hi there, I am thinking of buying a laptop for work/uni, etc. I came across the Dell Latitude C600 series. With some modification such as 256MB RAM, PIII850, 20GB IDE HDD, etc. I was just wandering if anyone has bought a Dell laptop similar to the spec above. If so, how smooth does debian potato run on these machines? Your reply would be much appreciated. cheers. SDRAM for Dell Latitude c800
Hi ya, I have a Dell Latitude C800. I currently have only 128mb of SDRAM. I have been told by some mates of mine that I could just purchase generic Laptop SDRAMS eg. 128mb approximately for $100AUD. is that true, or do I have to buy DELL specific RAM? if anyone has any experience with this, please let me know. cheers. Thanks in advance. Dell Latitude C800 and NIC card.
Hi there, I have a Dell Latitude C800. Has anyone manage to get the 3Com NIC CARD, FAST ETHERNET, 10/100MBPS working for their debian box? If so, how? I have checked the site www.linux-laptop.net, and I was wondering if kernel 2.4 handles the pcmcia stuff alright, without the need to install the extra pcmcia package from http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net? cheers.
