Recommended Maintenance Laptop (IBM/Lenovo)

Hello,

I have a used TP570 which is too small and a very big IBM which is too
expensive (3200 Euro) for my daily work in the maintenance at my customers.

Now I like to buy a new Lenovo Laptop maybe in the size of a R60 but I do
not know which one...

My requirements are:

1)  6 parallel installations
a) Office (Etch)
b) Devel (Unstable, Testing and Stable)
c) RedHat EL
d) Suse (Enterprise Server)
2)  WaveLAN a+b+g  ("a" IS required) => prefered MiniPCI
3)  Many USB-Ports
4)  2 x PCMCIA/Cardbus
5)  >= 512 MByte of memory
6)  very long runtime
7)  DVD/CD-Burner can be replaced by an additional Akku
to extend the runtime
8)  HDD >= 120 GByte
9)  Must serv as local Debian Mirror for Etch+Security
10) tftpd server with a bunch of images for "mips", "sparc" and "arm"
11) Maybe under 1200 Euro

Any recommendations?

Note:  It seems, they are at least 17 different versions of the R60.
   From a small Celleron 1200 to a Dualcore T5500 and bigger

Re: Setting hwclock --localtime fails

rdate is updating the time from timeserver, but is more lightweight than 
ntpdate. I couldn't discover a debian boot script for rdate, but it's a simple 
issue, so I added this snippet to a customized /etc/rc.local script:

NTPSERVERS="80.237.234.16 130.133.1.10"
echo "Setting system clock:"
for timeserver in $NTPSERVERS; do
   if (ping -q -c 1 -i 0.2 -W 1 $timeserver > /dev/null);
then found=true; echo "`/usr/sbin/rdate $timeserver`"; break
else found=false
   fi
done
$found || echo "WARNING: No timeserver was reached!"

ps. you can direct output to a specific log by using function 'log' instead of 
echo
