Soundcard works for one account but not others

2007-04-14 Thread Colin Cotter

Dear List,
I have an odd problem with sound on my laptop. It works for my
account, but not that of my wife (bad for Linux advocacy :-[ ). For
example, her volume control has a red cross on it and says that
Gstreamer couldn't find the application when clicked.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this?

all the best

Try adding your wife's account to "audio" group.

2007-04-14 Thread Baz

Attempted to install the 4.0 "update" of TV's Rescue and Recovery and it ate
GRUB leaving only the name at start-up. A IBM/Lenovo tech told me, that
it's occured with other users.
