Of course you need to have ACPID installed (apt-get install acpid) to see the events. You can also check from console by browsing the /proc/acpi/ folders, if I am right on that. Hi Julien, i've read on the internet that a normal user can only accer a single memory slot. The other one is located under the keyboard (as in Powerbooks); but if anyone that is not an Acer technical access this slot the warranty is automatically dropped. So one's able to change the only accessible 256 MB slot with 512 MB or 1 GB PC2700, SoDIMM DDR new memory bank. Hi, Firstly, thanx to answer me :) And if i want insert a 512MB in a slot which is under the keyboard (the warranty had ever been dropped), i'll have 768MB (256MB + 512MB) ?? In theory, my laptop can support 1024MB of RAM. Cascading configuration of ifupdown [Was: Re: ifplugd, guessnet, ifscheme, ...]

One thought to the previous discussion about network configuration: is it possible with ifupdown to create some kind of cascading configurations? What I mean is, that while being back in Boston I found out that sometimes I can get access to some open wireless router -- the connection was really crappy, it stopped working anytime, but when it was on, then it was certainly much faster than my regular dial-up connection. How could I sent my network like "use wlan0 for the Internet connection, but when it is not available then go for eth0 (where was the server connecting us to the Internet via modem)"? Any ideas?
