Hi list, I removed my Mozilla 1.4 (apt-get installed from Debian unstable) due to a problem with deletion of bookmarks and installed the latest nightly build 20030720) from mozilla.org. Bookmark problem solved but I've a fresh one: The fonts in Moz look butt-ugly now. The system installed fonts aren't visible in Mozilla->Preferences->Fonts. The sub-pixel rendering for LCDs in GNOME2.2 does not seem to work with my new mozilla build. Any clues on how to fix this? thanks keith _ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses. Hello I was configure, make and make install the last versions of ALSA (drives, lib and utils: version 0.9.5). Then I was run `./snddevices' in order to create the devices. Finally when I test the module with: `modprobe snd-ali5451' I receive the next error: /lib/modules/2.4.18-bf2.4/kernel/sound/pci/ali5451/snd-ali5451.o: init_module: No such device Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters /lib/modules/2.4.18-bf2.4/kernel/sound/pci/ali5451/snd-ali5451.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.18-bf2.4/kernel/sound/pci/ali5451/snd-ali5451.o failed /lib/modules/2.4.18-bf2.4/kernel/sound/pci/ali5451/snd-ali5451.o: insmod snd-ali5451 failed I really don't know wath is my problem. I've done this with both Mozilla and a Firebird nightly. When I compared the font display side by side, the mozilla.org download did not have crisp and clear fonts to the level that the XFT enabled Mozilla debian package has had. Here are a few references to prettying up the fonts in Mozilla to consider: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/fonts/unix/enabling_truetype.html http://people.enginesofcreation.ie/mick/archives/23.html http://www.mahmood.tv/index.php/docs/125 Also note that when you make the changes that the adjusted font displays show up somewhat differently in the font preferences in Mozilla.
