Inspiron 8100 and APR problems
Hello, I recently got a Dell Inspiron 8100 together with an APR (Advanced Port Replicator) or a docking station. The laptop runs smooth as vodka with both 2.4.17 and 2.4.18-pre3-ac2 :-) That is, as long as it is not plugged into the dock ;-( When I connect the laptop to the APR everything seems to work fine for a while (10-60 minutes), but then suddenly it just reboots, without leaving a single hint in any logfile... sucks. Any clues? cheers, .jonas. P.S. I'm using the A08 BIOS D.S. -- [ PGP public key: http://www.iki.fi/jonas/pubkey.asc ] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

This is a comment from mine: Well, as far as I know one should use modconf for things like this on a debian system. Besides, there is no point loading drivers at boot time, for they will be loaded 'on demand' by the kernel if your /etc/modules.conf is up to date. modconf will take care of this.
