I am on Xrender. I do not enable compositor on startup as I had hangups when 
doing that. I still see no change.

So Kmail and KDE PIM, as of today, will remain at the 16.04 version in the 
next Stable.

Given what you said, does it mean that the KDE PIM suite will only receive 
security updates, if any, but not patches for non-critical bugs like the ones 
above if not properly ported to the 16.04 version?

If so, could be there the possibility to have a newer version of the KDE PIM 
suite via backports at a later time? Thank you.
