I realized that phonon needs ported libs as well, after instaling the
phonon5in4foo libraries sound is fine.

I never said that this missing stuff was left out by the packagers. It
is just upstream not caring about the people who use their software.
Shipping a picture viewer with an incompatible kipi interface without
having kipi plugins compatible with that interface is, well, unfriendly.

I think we need to have someone with a interest in this take ownership
of something like this. Like someone who actively uses color meters and
such.  I do find the topic .. interesting, but I neither have the time
nor the hardware to work on that. And I can't see the difference between
peach yellow and sun yellow anyways.

I am happy to buy (open source) hardware for a package maintainer to take
this on. My work secondary monitor no longer sets the appropriate color
profile and it's driving me up the wall.
