The other problem I had was that file finder and wallpaper selector dialogs didn't have content and didn't work Installing kio solved that. anxiousmac -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Re: So I have a Plasma 5 desktop!
Hello I've also tried plasma 5. Unfortunately, this messed up iceweasel: Everything was twice as big as usual (although my laptop has no retine display..). Menus. tabs, fonts were too large. I could play with font size to reduce the font to a reasonable value, but the menus and tabs stayed way too large. On the other hand, chromium had no problem. Unfortunately, I use this computer for work so I had to revert kde packages to testing-ish. I'll try again later. As a quick workaround you can set GTK2_RC_FILES variable [in a wrapper script for Iceweasel] to point at a gtkrc to override whatever KDE is setting. I do this with Java apps [eg NetXMS client] that don't like the Oxygen GTK theme [that otherwise works great for everything else]. alexd -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". help, lost the tops of windows in KDE 4.X
Hi, I've lost the tops of windows and hence the ability to move them, and also the ability to switch tasks with alt-tab on my other machine and wonder where I should go looking to fix this. Installed includes: ii kde-plasma-desktop5:77+deb7u1 amd64KDE Plasma Desktop and minimal set of applications ii kdm 4:4.11.13-2 amd64KDE Display Manager for X11 ii plasma-desktop4:4.11.13-2 amd64KDE Plasma workspace for desktop and laptop computers Some process of upgrading attempting to remove apparently un-needed packages lead to this situation and I've been experimenting, using the aptitude logs as a guide to re-installing things. Any suggestions on what to check for or do to restore this functionality are welcome. I'm happy to supply more details as needed. Will it be not atomic either and it's recommended to pause updates for testing now to avoid semi-broken state, or in testing this should normally happen in more consistent fashion? And if the former, what would be an indicator that accumulated update is consistent enough? Thanks! Hillel Lubman.
SDDM lost display monitor
I use the Nvidia driver and I moved from KDM to SDDM and lost the display monitor after login, I got a bright colored out of focus desktop and then the display signal was gone. I installed KDE LightDM and all is well. Any idea what could have happened to cause the display to be lost? -- Jimmy Johnson Debian Sid - KDE 5.3.2 - AMD64 - EXT4 at sda14 Registered Linux User #380263 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-kde-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
