kdm - num lock

2005-02-13 Thread manu revah

hello,

i´m trying to get kdm to NOT activate numlock by default, i tried apt-get
remove --purge kdm just for fun and still when i reinstall it still
reactivates numlock.

what is weird is that i just changed keyboards, and before the problem
seemed to be in the otherway (and i did not solve that, so numlock wasn
activated), however now i have a typmatrix 2020 so the numlock being
activated is a real pain.. . (i went from a normal azerty_fr to qwerty_us)
if anyone knows what could be done i´m all ears.. .

btw, debian sarge/testing

manu.

Does ControlCenter / Peripherals / Keyboard / Numlock on Startup do what
you want ? A purge and reinstall would not alter that, which is one of
your user's .kde settings.

that setting does work, however it´s applied once my user has logged in,
after kdm.. when in kdm, my user has to use the letter ¨m¨ to log in, on
this keyboard if numlock is activated it´s an arrow button.. . .

i redid a apt-get remove --purge kdm and now tis seems better.. .. .. .

i'm gettting old, so going from azerty-fr to qwerty-us with a typematrix
(nice but unusual) is quiet abrupt for me.. . . . :]

Konsole preferences

2005-02-13 Thread Matías Costa
I have realized I can't configure konsole with the usual "preferences >
configure konsole" menu. The dialog does not appear. I have tested with a new
user and the problem is the same.

Is this only for me?

works fine here with kde 3.3.2 from testing.

Works OK here. Tracking sarge, konsole konsole 1.42, using KDE 3.3.2.

Well, I don't know when my kde instalation got corrupted, but purging all kde
and reinstalling solved the problem.

I wanted to know if I was alone before recurring to this radical "solution",
without a clue if that was going to make any diffence.

Thanks for the answers :)
