kde child panel

2001-06-21 Thread Regnat Nikolaus
I've a problem with the child panel (kde 2.1.1). Every applet (e.g
newsticker) I add to a child panel isn't stored - I have to re-add it every
time I restart KDE. What's wrong with it?

konqueror and flash

2001-06-21 Thread Regnat Nikolaus
What's the proper way to get flash running with konqueror? I tried the
following: jre1.3 (from blackdown), the flash files copied to the
/usr/lib/netscape/plugin dir. Konqueror setup found the plugins (after
scanning), but flash still doesn't work. What's the problem with it? Flash
with Netscape works fine, but I don't like to install Netscape just for
that

Not only that, but for me flash has been crashing very regularly (almost
every time) for the last few weeks, whereas before it worked fine. This
happens both with 2.1.2 and 2.2alpha. Anyone else experiencing this?
Workarounds?

Thanks,

David

kwin electric (active) border

2001-06-21 Thread Dan Berdine

I have been trying to enable the electricborder feature of kwin, so I can
drag windows from workspace to workspace by crossing the edges of the
screen, but have so far been unsucessful.

The only documentation I could find was for kwm, and gave instructions to
add the lines

ElectricBorder=10
ElectricBorderNumberOfPushes=5
ElectricBorderPointerWarp=MiddleWarp

inder the [General] heading of kwmrc. (Without giving specific settings
of course, I just picked some). I added these to
~/.kde/share/config/kwinrc but as there was no [General] heading present I
added it, when that did'nt work I put them under the [Windows] heading.

I then logged out and back into kde with no luck.

I have searched the archives but the only refence I see to this feature
never got a response and was from '98, I apologise if it is easily
documented somewhere I was unable to locate.

Thanks,
-Dan
