Can't delete or modify file

2001-04-18 Thread Robert Brown
I tried to update my debian box which is running Potato. When libc6 tries to
install it fails giving an error about not being able to symlink libnss_db.so.2.
I took a look at libnss_db.so.2 and things are very odd. A 'ls -la' gives the
following:

br-xr-S-wx1 223048236 105, 114 Oct 23 2030 libnss_db.so.2

I've tried to delete, rename, chown and chmod with out any luck. What should I
do? I can't even find out what 'S' as a permission is. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Accounting Software

2001-05-02 Thread Robert Brown
What are other ISPs running for financial accounting software? We are running
Peach Tree 7.0 with a customer base of 3000 users. Printing invoices is now
over 30 hours. A call to Peach Tree informs us that our software is only made
for 1000 or less accounts but they will be glad to sell us their bigger product
for $2000. "Oh, but it won't import your old data." So, anyone have any
recommendations? Thanks.

Locked accounts

2000-12-13 Thread Robert Brown

I routinely use passwd -l username to lock customers with overdue balances. Is
there a way to list all accounts that are locked?

Default Interface

2000-12-18 Thread Robert Brown

I have a box with a 3com nic and a Sangoma WAN card running as a mail server
andoffice router. Is there a way, when I talk to the outside world across my
WAN card, to make it use the ip address of my ethernet card. In other words,
when I telnet, ssh, ftp to a box on the outside world, I want it to show up as
a connection from mail.mynetwork.com (my ethernet address) and not
host_on.framerelaycloud.provider.com (my wan address).
