Smb Error

2002-07-03 Thread Andrew Hughes

Hi all,

I realise this list is probably not related to this problem but couldn't
work out where else to send it

Samba seems to be returning these errors below simultaneously with errors
on the client machine (Windows 2000 "\\xx\xx__x is unavailable at
this stage" whils't trying to save to the device) however does actually
save the file (possibly the filename format?) . It would appear that the
errors are occuring when the samba share has timed out and is attempting to
re-establish a connection.

Samba log file errors:

[2002/07/03 15:17:20, 0] smbd/oplock.c:oplock_break(761)
  oplock_break: receive_smb timed out after 30 seconds.
  oplock_break failed for file
a_a/__//a-aaa.a-aa_a-aaa/a/
aaa.aaa aa aaa a 2002-06-30.doc (dev = 855, inode = 1425583, file_id
= 2871).
[2002/07/03 15:17:20, 0] smbd/reply.c:reply_lockingX(4388)
reply_lockingX: Error : oplock break from client for fnum = 7053 and no
oplock
 granted on this file (
a_a/__//a-aaa.a-aa_a-aaa/a/aaa.aaa aa
aaa a 2002-06-30.doc).

Syslog Errors:

ypserv[391]: refused connect from $IP:Port to procedure ypproc_match

Has anyone seen these before or can you point me to the right mailing list?

I am not entirely sure that they are related errors just bundled all the
errors being seen together.

Thanks heaps
Andy

Try changing the network cable anyway. If the wrong pairs are used for
twisted pair (10base-T) then the cable may produce some of the symptoms you
describe.
