openoffice.org 1:3.1.1-6: Please translate debconf PO for the package openoffice.org

2009-10-24 Thread Rene Engelhard
Dear Debian I18N people,

I would like to know if some of you would be interested in translating
openoffice.org.

openoffice.org already includes de.po ru.po tr.po.
So do not translate it to these languages (the translators will be
contacted separately).

Hrmpf. Not another translation-affecting change. (This was not in

de was fixed my myself before I ran myself podebconf-report-po --call.
(And is currently reviewed by -l10n-german. No need to send de.po)

*Maybe* 1 or so, but not much. When 3.2 will be released it will be

Hi again,

Use public blame only when you have something to blame, thanks.

Your reaction is totally inapprproate. Did I flame you? No.
I just pointed out the error. (the pt team actually did do a worse)

It was already set to pending in the reply. So where do I say I don't want
to use it? What I *do* care about is the sanity of the openoffice.org
bug list, thogh, if I didn't we would have 1000 bugs or so like Ubuntu
has where many of them do not apply and/or where fixed ages ago.

> Two days time frame and I miss one line in a more or less standardized
> email, just get the fuck out and do not include my file.

Three. The 3 was a typo.

And I'd have liked a longer deadline anyway, but the whole part of the next
upload is to fix a load of RC bugs (and actually this template is the
biggest part of this fix.)
--- snip ---

and

--- snip ---
For a version, btw, which (almost) immediately will be replaced by OOo 3.2.0
when it comes out which will not even show the new template anymore. (Because
that will only be shown on a 3.1.1->3.1.1 upgrade, and I will not support
upgrades from a "broken" version to 3.2 in any case; not because I don't want
but because it's simply not possible)

Sorry that it hit you, but I am fed up with 3.1.1 and want to see it gone
immediately and then people make life harder, because this translation bug
will be there and marked as affecting 3.2, too (where it does not even affect
the current version in squeeze/sid) :-(

Which got removed then again because the question which existed then was gone.
For some time, there was no debconf or debian/po at all. (I don't keep a unused
debian/po around, sorry)

This is a new error/note. So this is again a initial translation.

Yes. And it's porefrred if it's

a) maintained by someone speaking the langauge (-> not mne)
b) not built from the LibreOffice source but from external
c) the dictioinary built from their ispell/whatever counterparts
if possible and the build system allows it - instead of just
shipping the resulting dictionaries as-isas the prefferd form
   of modification is the former.

Given http://muttprint.sourceforge.net/ I am not quite sure about that :)

It doesn't do much harm when you have thedefault installation of
recommends disabled.. (which I consider the correct setting for this, and yes
on a recent install I failed at that too and hen just lived with it installing
more stuff that I wanted/needed.)

But yeah.

The Recommends: probably come back from the time where OOo was the only user and
other packages like scribus where fundamentally flawed and included all the
dicts itself. (now fixed)

Andother packages outside of OOo probably just copied it.

We should, yes.

Hi,

thanks. Added in git.

P.S:

A mail to *me* or debian-openoffice@ would have been better since

maintainers submitting these don't necessarily read -i18n :-)

libreoffice already includes de.po.
So do not translate it to these languages (the translators will be
