mserv 0.35-6.5: Please translate debconf PO for the package mserv

2009-02-18 Thread Christian Perrier
Hi,

The debian-l10n-english team has reviewed the debconf templates for
mserv. This opens an opportunity for new translations to be sent
for that package.

mserv already includes translations for:
cs.po de.po eu.po fi.po fr.po gl.po nb.po nl.po pt.po pt_BR.po ro.po ru.po
sv.po vi.po

so do not translate it to these languages (the previous translators will
be contacted separately).

Please send the updated file as a wishlist bug
against the package.

The deadline for receiving the updated translation is
Wednesday, March 04, 2009.

If you have read this far, please see the attached POT file.

Samoa Time Zone (UTC-11), right? I propose the following deadlines:

2009-03-22 23:59 UTC (Greenwich!) English string freeze
2009-03-29 23:59 UTC (GMT!) translation freeze

Is this OK for everyone?

For me (Italian translation) OK.

Bye and have a nice day

I did a fresh install of mepis 8.0 rc2 (it's almost lenny) -- see mepis.org.
i chose ru_RU.UTF-8 locale during install.

keyboard switching done via /etc/X11/xorg.conf works as expected.
furthermore, i did set up alternative keyboard configuration using xkbcomp
(to get non-standard symbols like «» handy).

I added '/usr/bin/xkbcomp /home/xx/ru_ua_xkb_config $DISPLAY' to autorun.
(by adding .desktop file to ~/.kde4/Autostart)

i can send you ru_ua_xkb_config contents if you're interested.

I also configured KDE4 keyboard switcher into 'indicator only' mode.

If you're setuping machines for translators, then I would really recommend you
installing KDE4
as it provides Lokalize the computer-aided translation system.

As soon as the font is included in etch-backports, we'll request to get
it installed on www-master.

Cheers

Well, the date is not sure yet. I'll follow-up once the date has been fixed.

I know now is late, but which were those changes. I know I
*intentionally* placed some -s în the lenny announcement.

I didn't replaced any -s, but -s. IIRC you had two times at the
very beginning "lenny" which displayed the lenny not in quotes
but as lonely paragraph.

The ports page at

 http://www.debian.org/ports/

includes both 'Intel x86 / IA-32 ("i386")' and 'IA-64 ("ia64")', so at
least there's precedent for the release notes list.

Review in progress: nethack debconf templates

2009-02-18 Thread Christian Perrier
The debconf templates for this package recently changed or were added.

As a consequence, the Debian English localization team is proposing a
complete review to the maintainer.

When that review starts, another notice will be sent as a followup to
this mail, announcing the intent of one of the Debian English
localization team members to review the templates.

It is likely that such review will trigger changes to templates.

As a consequence, translation work on this package's templates is
temporarily discouraged. Rushing out to update existing translations
or adding new ones is likely to lead to more confusion than benefit.

Calls for translations will be sent as soon as the review is complete.

Thanks for your cooperation.
