Great idea. I did the same for Czech (cs).

Announce of the upcoming NMU for the dict-gcide package

2006-10-04 Thread Christian Perrier

Dear maintainer of dict-gcide and Debian translators,

On 04 oct 2006 I sent a notice to the maintainer of the dict-gcide
Debian package, mentioning the status of at least one old po-debconf
related bug in the BTS (bug #207859).

I announced the intent to build and possibly upload a non-maintainer upload
for this package in order to fix this long-time pending localization
bug as well as all other pending translations.

The package maintainer did not respond in a week so I will proceed with the
NMU.

This NMU will REMOVE all debconf stuff from the package as it is not
relevant anymore. This is what's suggested in #207859.

If the maintainer objects to this process I will immediately abort my NMU.

Otherwise the following will happen (or already has):

28 sep 2006 : send the first intent to NMU notice to
 the package maintainer.
 04 oct 2006 : post a NMU announcement to debian-i18n with you
 (maintainer) CC'ed
06 oct 2006 : build the package and upload it to DELAYED/2-day
send the NMU patch to the BTS
08 oct 2006 : NMU uploaded to incoming
 09 oct 2006 : NMU enters unstable

Thanks for your efforts and time.

No problem! I just didn't know if you were there or your reading
habits. :)

Sure, I'll do in the future.

Thanks, it works now!

I'll add Catalan to the webwml/english/international/l10n/ddtp.wml if
you don't mind.

Also does it have to be tweaked somewhere so that it appears as well
in the stats at ? Or is it going to appear
after some time when it gets regenerated?

(I was looking for the source, but I'm not sure the one I found
in svn.debian.org is the one currently running).

guillem

Thanks! it works now. Some issues and suggestions:

 *
   - Add a totals column?
   - ko and go are missing the long name.
   - ca does not appear there.
 * I've talked with some people of our team and we were thinking that
we don't want anonymous translations (I'll talk with the others
tomorrow), would that be possible? It's fine that anyone can
register though. The important part is to attach a real name and
a valid email to the contributions.
 * Also it would be nice to change the Alias to "Real name" in the
"Create login" page, so that you could form a proper From header.
This way that information would not get lost when sending the
translation to the DDTP (which now it is).

Thanks for this nice system!

regards,
guillem

I've fixed the webpage now.

I've done so already with the other fixes you proposed...

I've found the source (reading the mailing list) at
but it does not seem to include the
stuff that produces the main page?

I'm attaching two patches against that source, though.

The first one adds linux as a variant for kernel, as the packages have
been renamed now, also I added a '-' at the end of ^kernel otherwise
it was matching stuff like kerneltop.

The other is a minor doc fix (the sv is justified from the
HOT-NEWs-sv_SE.txt file).

guillem

Status of D-I translations 2006/10/05: 19/21/18/21/07

2006-10-04 Thread Christian Perrier
(yesterday, it turned out that I was living in the future and I only
realized that we were Oct 4th, not 5th, at the end of the day)

News from today:

-big bump for level 1. Usual process after minor changes
-big bump in levels 2 to 4 because of calls for translation updates
(it seems that you guys/ladies work better if I urge you to..:-))

To be expected:

-a few strings changed in level 1
-level 5 will go down because of one string modified in debconf
 program translation

The subject of these messages will give the number of 100% languages
for the relevant day, as of 04:00UTC (the run of the D-I stats script)
for each level, from 1 to 5.

For details about levels, please see
http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/i18n-doc

For details about the statistics, please see
