Bug#245029: Acknowledgement (libc6: SIGSEGV in getgrouplist()/getpwnam())
Isn't it CAN-2003-0689? (I have not seen that fixed in libc6's changelog.Debian.gz.) The CAN itself states that versions 2.2.4 and older are affected, but eg. http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/8477 says that even 2.2.5 in Woody is affected. So may it be right, or is this something else? norbi

Disclaimer: I don't know that these files do, I trust this to the descretion of the glibc maintainers :). Anyway, it's not lintian's fault that it is complaining about broken packages, rather, it is lintian's job to do so. Please add overrides if and where appropriate (f.e., if this is done for historic reasons), if you don't want to get reminded of this misplacement on every lintian run. It's pretty silly that glibc insists these are placed directly in /lib, but we're stuck with it; lintian should ignore them where appropriate. hello glibc mainainers, I screwed up badly with aptitude and wiped a good portion of my Sid system (on powerpc), including libc6. Now trying to reinstall, and having a terrible time with a conflict btwn libc6 and initscripts. Isn't it CAN-2003-0689? (I have not seen that fixed in libc6's changelog.Debian.gz.) The CAN itself states that versions 2.2.4 and older are affected, but eg. http://www.securityfocus.com/bid/8477 says that even 2.2.5 in Woody is affected. Disclaimer: I don't know that these files do, I trust this to the descretion of the glibc maintainers :). Anyway, it's not lintian's fault that it is complaining about broken packages, rather, it is lintian's job to do so. Please add overrides if and where appropriate (f.e., if this is done for historic reasons), if you don't want to get reminded of this misplacement on every lintian run. hello glibc mainainers, I screwed up badly with aptitude and wiped a good portion of my Sid system (on powerpc), including libc6. Now trying to reinstall, and having a terrible time with a conflict btwn libc6 and initscripts.
