EVA最近启动特别漫长
lenny/sid最近可能升级了软件包的缘故变成了squeeze/sid，eva启动时间特别长，长达10来分钟，但最终能工作 不知道哪里出了问题，已经试了以下方法: 1. 删除HOME下的kde，eva的配置文件及文件夹 2. 卸载相关的库文件kdelibs4-dev libqt3-mt-dev kdelibs4c2a 3. 重新编译eva 结果仍然不行，有人知道可能是哪里出了问题吗？ 谢谢了！
lenny 关机或重启时总是停在acpid: exiting
最近做了次升级，lenny出了不少问题，2.6.24. 现在acpid又卡住了，关机或重启时总停在这个消息处: acpid:exiting 已经将acpid几个版本都试过了，依然无效 有人遇到过这个问题吗？

Hi guys: I installed debian 4.0R1 etch on my DELL pc and have been working on it for days. All of a sudden when I reboot the system (maybe has some thing with what I did on gnome package management), the system can not start X automatically, and there are many error messages during startup: " failed to set scancode 89 to keycode 161 KDSETKEYCODE: No such device failed to set scancode 85 to keycode 224 KDSETKEYCODE: No such device ." after I login in, I can start X manually, and the GNOME desktop can be started working fine. Does anybody has idea of how to repair this? I don't know if there is something wrong potentially with the hardware or not. Thank you guys. Michael.

I just installed the tool and selected the keyboard I am using, PC105, the problem still exists after reboot the system. I'm wondering how could that be the cause of the X failure, sounds strange. Now I can startX manually, but it is not what I want. During the startup, the error message still be coming out, and also at the end of the login, "no IPV6 routers present". But I don't think I did some thing related to ipv6. Thank you guys. Really appreciate it if you could help! i restored one package *** gnome-desktop-environment ***, and now it backs
fine.
I meant to remove unnecessary packages to make my system clean, keeping only
what I want.
I'm still wondering if there is a way to uncheck this package and also to
get the problem resolved?
anyway, it could be a work around now having this package restored.

I just reinstalled the gnome tools I had uninstalled, and also check the
console kbd package, the problem still exists: error message during startup,
can not start X automatically.
If its about the keymap, which package should I have?
I checked in the installed package, there are console-data console-tools and
the kbd I just installed.

I am not sure which package removal caused this.
I was doing sth cleaning the packages that is not what I want, like
Openoffice, which will remove some kind of gnome tools as I saw during the
removal.

There is nothing output for this command, I guess the package has been
uninstalled.
I am to install the packages that has been marked as deinstall, to see what
will happen

aptitude hangs?
Whenever I install packages within aptitude view, it will hang after the package installed. I have to close the terminal(urxvt, gnome-terminal) to kill aptitude after that. But the apt-get works fine in terminal. Was there issue of building the view in aptitude after new packages installed? Or has anyone met this? My system was upgraded from etch to lenny/sid and work with aptitude 0.4.6.1 Appreciated of your helps! Regards.

Hi Appreciated of your suggestions. I tried some other key for calling fcitx app, but can't get it invoked. Now I'm not sure if there is any problem on the setting of fcitx. However, it works fine on the local display with CTRL_SPACE. Is there any leads to check where could the problem arise from? [HELP!] Network Disappeared ON Dell D630 Laptop
Hi All: I was compiling the alsa sound driver on my laptop, while the network was working well. When finished compile, I reboot the laptop, and now the network doesn't work at all. I found there's no "ifconfig" command, and no network script under /etc/init.d. It seems that all network related files disappeared. How could this come up? Is the sound driver compiled into kernel causing the problem? It's strange. How can I get the network function back? Does anyone has experience on this problem? Really appreciated of your helps Thanks. Michael

Hi, there was a problem when I was compiling the alsa driver source. I
installed ja-trans package which removed all netbase and nettools packages.
I didn't notice it and just pressed Y .
It's a mistake. Now have got it back to work!

xfontsel里面看不到添加的字体
我自己添加了几个字体simsun，msyahei，放在一个自定义文件夹下 /usr/share/fonts/X11/myfonts mkfontscale mkfontdir都执行过了，很多程序都能list出来这些字体，都能显示 并可以使用，fc-list也能看到 但是在 xfontsel 里面却 没有。 我已经修改了下面两个配置文件： ) /etc/fonts/fonts.conf: /usr/share/fonts/X11/myfonts 2) /etc/X11/fs/config # paths to search for fonts catalogue = /usr/share/fonts/X11/myfonts/, 仍然不行，必须在终端中手工添加这个路径: $ xset +fp /usr/share/fonts/X11/myfonts 请教一下，是否哪个地方没设置好呢？ 非常感谢 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". 问一个无线网络问题
在windows下自动就能连接，接入点没有设置安全认证，也就是encryption key 是 off 的 可是在linux下scanning能scan到，但 "sudo dhclient eth2"时总是不能获取ip地址 请问该从哪些方面着手查看哪里出了问题？ 驱动应该是没有问题，因为以前用过都挺好，可能跟接入点有关，但这个接入点没有什么特别的地方 就是很简单的设置下: "sudo iwconfig eth2 essid tebrake" ，然后 "sudo dhclient eth2" 谢谢指点！

修改xfce的右键菜单
在xfce桌面的右键菜单中，想删除其中一项子菜单 在menu editor里没找到，就是在setting 和 Debian 之间的 "include system" 这一项，会由系统自动生成一些分类，类似于： Development, Network, Office, Multimedia, System 现在我想将其中的Other项从里面remove掉，请问应该在哪里去修改配置？没有找到对应的文件去修改。 谢谢 M.

QTerm的一个问题
最近我的qterm启动时经常闪一下就没了，要重复启动好几次才正常起来 有人遇到过这个问题吗, 之前好好的，不确定什么时候开始的 因为刚开始没发觉，flash一下，就重复点几下就启动了，就没在意，最近越来越明显, 诡异 debian, lenny/sid, 2.6.24, xfce4, qterm0.4.1 谢谢大家！

compiz on debian, no window borders shown
Hi guys: I installed the compiz on my debian (lenny/sid, 2.6.24, xfce4), but after I executed "compiz --replace", the following messages are returned: Checking for Xgl: not present. iceweasel 总出现 segmentation fault
经常用到途中突然crash，出现的错误信息只有一条 "segmentation fault" (从终端启动返回的） 怎么找原因阿？

KDE程序(eva)的字体升级后变的很难看
