Jigdo-files for Etch are slightly outdated and solution
Hello, I ran into a problem that took me a while to solve. I am proposing to add this to the FAQs for dealing with jigdo-files for Debian, as well as adding this to the Mini-HowTo. Some of the files referenced in the jigdo file were outdated - meaning a newer versions was already on all the mirrors worldwide. Which was a bit strange, because the jigdo-file was fairly new. Solution: One can download from the snapshot server of the date the jigdo was created: In my case the 17th of march: http://snapshot.debian.net/archive/2007/03/17/debian/ Best regards, Martin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". weekly-builds powerpc KDE iso
The weekly build "18-Mar-2007 03:20 648M" PPC KDE iso did not install the KDE Desktop, I installed it using Synaptic and the Network Manager said my "eth0" was active but it was not, I had to Disable and then Enable the Interface, I'm still installing software and have not yet rebooted and will let you know if I find more problems. -- Regards, Jimmy Registered Penguin #380263 Registered Linux Computer #279395 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". beryl
All, Why is beryl not part of the Etch testing DVDs ? Is there any particular reason ? I installed beryl and it is a wonderful environment. although there are some problems still in the WM, still for Etch/testing it will be a good candidate ... -- Bhasker C V Registered Linux user: #306349 (counter.li.org) The box said "Requires Windows 95, NT, or better", so I installed Linux. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
