Zaman, Mekke'den Medine'ye, Kudüs'ten İsfahan'a bütün şehirlerimizi içinde barındırdıkları o derin bilgelikle yeniden yaşama zamanı. Mihmandarlar ise şu isimlerden oluşuyor: Asım Gültekin, Halil İbrahim Kutlay, Hüseyin Selamcı, Zeki Bulduk, Ahmet Edip Başaran, Saadettin Öktem, Mehmet Aycı, Mehmet Emin Ay, Yıldız Ramazanoğlu, Kemal Sayar, Rasim Özdenören, Mustafa Armağan, Yağmur Tunalı, Kâmil Uğurlu, Vahap Akbaş, Mustafa Kara, Ahmet Mercan, Vehbi Vakkasoğlu, Mustafa Oğuz, Halit Ömer Camcı, Mehmet Kurtoğlu, Yakup Deliömeroğlu, D. Mehmet Doğan, Bu şehirlere ilaveten Ali Haydar Haksal Doğu'nun şehirlerini, Rahşan Gürel Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar'dan mülhem kendi 'beş şehir'ini yazıyor. Yeni Dünya dergisinin Medeniyet Nakışlı Şehirler özel sayısı her bakımdan görülmeyi, incelenmeyi hak ediyor. Bug#410815: ppc daily netinst CD (12-Feb-07) missing ibmveth module
Package: cdrom Version: 4.0 Severity: grave As far as I can tell, the daily build network install CD for Debian/ppc 4.0 (etch) from 12-Feb-07 does not include the ibmveth module (ibm virtual ethernet driver; i.e. CONFIG_IBMVETH). This affects anyone using POWER5 virtualization with virtual ethernet. It makes it impossible to do a network install on a logical partition. Boot the CD using 'expert64' Select 'Execute a shell' ~ # modprobe ibmveth FATAL: Module ibmveth not found. ~ # ifconfig eth0 up SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device Please include the driver on the network install CD. smime.p7s Description: S/MIME cryptographic signature

The module seems to be available in linux-image-2.6.18-4-powerpc64 and thus can be added to the kernel udebs for powerpc64. I have added it to the nic-extra-modules udeb and it will be included in the next upload. Cheers, FJP pgpPT119vc8rD.pgp Description: PGP signature

Hmmm. We're deliberately keeping snapshot trees around for much longer these days; any given set of jigdos should work for at least a month after they're created *unless* there was a problem during the weekly run and the snapshot wasn't created properly. >BTW, *please* do not enter snapshot.debian.net as your primary Debian >mirror from the beginning! Yup, seconded! :-) Doug, if you're missing any more files in future that jigdo can't find even on the jigdo snapshot server, please mail a list of the missing files to debian-cd ASAP and I'll do my best to fix them. The cron scripts *should* be getting this right, but occasionally things aren't working 100%. -- Steve McIntyre, Cambridge, UK.[EMAIL PROTECTED] "Every time you use Tcl, God kills a kitten." -- Malcolm Ray signature.asc Description: Digital signature
RFE for Install-CD
Hi! I have a Request For Enhancement: I'd like to see a minor modification to the GRUB boot loader to support headless systems with a serial console. At this time, GRUB assumes you have a keyboard and monitor connected, which is often not true on enterprise servers for data centers. As far as I see, there are only a few changes required to /boot/grub/menu.lst: # # Support serial console # serial --unit=0 --speed=9600 --word=8 --parity=no --stop=1 terminal --timeout=10 serial console and there should be a kernel image to be selected which has the "console=ttyS0" kernel option. So done, a debian installer can boot the cd on a headless system, press a key and enter grub in serial mode. Than he could run the kernel with console=ttyS0 and happily install. The baud rate 9600/8/n/1 is selected to be compatible with the default settings for most terminal servers in datacenters, it's also the default speed for Sun's serial consoles. Sorry, I'm not on the list, so if you want to discuss this RFE, contact me by sending a mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (in word-reverse order, thus peter.bauer...). Weekly D-I snapshot hanging
Looks like the weekly build got hung up during the mips images. c.d.o/cdimage/weekly-builds has shown mips.tmp for over 24 hours, with others like multi-arch still dated last week. For what it's worth, I can report continuing demand for bittorrent downloads of the i386 and amd64 DVDs of Etch RC1. --Don -- No CC needed, I read the lists. === San Antonio Linux Users Group www.satlug.org
