Is GPL source for binary cd1 all on source cd1?

2002-10-31 Thread Blars Blarson
Is all the source for the GPL software on the Official woody
3.0r1_nonUS x86 cd contained on the first source CD, or am I going to
have to download the entire source set if I give away the binary CDs?

Sarge upgrade CDs form Woody HOW?

2002-10-31 Thread Hans Ginzel
Hello,

how can I create CDs for sarge? I have 7 binary CDs fro Woody, I want
only upgrade CDs. With my perl script mirroring the debian tree I can
create debian{,-non-US} trees just with packages Sarge takeing off
Woody packages (Srage-Woody).

The debian-30rev0-i386-binary-7.iso is only 362545152 bytes. How can
I create CDs Woody 7 and upgrade CDs with Sarge? How add some sarge
packages to 7th woody CD?

Thanks
Hans Ginzel

Preise

2002-10-31 Thread Sascha Roth

Here's a poor translation of his question:

I do have a question: I'd like to order Debian in Germany, but there
are several offers which differ in price, therefore I suggest that you
also include the price in your vendor list.

Another Question: How much do you think a Debian "package" consisting
of 7 CDs for i386 should cost ?

***

I don't think it would be a good idea to include price information at
the vendor list.

Everytime a price changes the page would have to be updated and there
also might be additional costs, e.g. shipping cost, taxes etc. that
may or may not be applied.

Bye,
Joerg

can't jigdo iso with rockridge

2002-10-31 Thread Daniel Glassey
Hi,
I am trying to use jigdo with a non-debian iso
(http://www.crosswire.org/~dglassey/sword20021030.iso) but it isn't working.

The iso is created with
mkisofs -J -r -o ./public_html/sword20021030.iso -V \"1.5.5\" iso/latest

When I run jigdo-file on the iso it generates warnings (these do not appear for
an iso of this created without -r)

mktemplate.hh:222: Assertion failed, `oldAreaEnd == start'
mktemplate.hh:222: Assertion failed, `oldAreaEnd == start'

jigdo-file run as
jigdo-file make-template --force --report=quiet \
--image=/home/dglassey/public_html/sword20021030.iso \
--jigdo=/home/dglassey/public_html/sword20021030.jigdo \
--template=/home/dglassey/public_html/sword20021030.template \
/home/sword/ftp/iso/latest// \
--label Crosswire=/home/sword/ftp/iso/latest \
--uri Crosswire=ftp://crosswire.org/pub/sword/iso/latest/

Then when I try to use jigdo-lite to download the image it aborts complaining
about the template

05:29:31 (63.91 MB/s) - `sword20021030.template' saved [4154943/4154943]

-
Merging parts from `file:' URIs, if any...
jigdo-file print-missing: Invalid template data - corrupted file?
jigdo-file make-image: Invalid template data - corrupted file?
jigdo-file failed with code 3 - aborting.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Daniel

and there may be other reasons to choose a particular vendor - support,
competence, reliability, moral stance etc. Debian can't hope to keep track
of those so we must leave the descision to the purchaser.

Disk name

2002-10-31 Thread Greg Madden
The DVD & the first cd of the 'set of seven' have the same name.

678526976 Sep 1 21:22 debian-30r0-i386-binary-1_NONUS.iso
4342153216 Jul 29 22:44 debian-30r0-i386-binary-1_NONUS.iso

I think it would be easier to manage images if:
debian-30r0-i386-binary-dvd_NONUS.iso

Just a thought.
