No sid images at ftp.fsn.hu?

2002-09-06 Thread Joern Reder

Hi,

since yesterday evening (CET) the directory for sid/jigdo files on
ftp.fsn.hu is empty.

  ftp://ftp.fsn.hu/pub/CDROM-Images/debian-unofficial/sid/jigdo/

Is this a bug or a feature? ;) When will the files are back online
again?

Regards,

Joern

To prevent such newbie-confusion in future: would it be possible to put
a README in the directory, containing "Rebuild in progress, be patent
and come back later", or something similar?

That's impossible - jigdo is not designed to allow this. However, with
Debian it is possible (and very easy) to install packages directly
over the internet, so you can download CD 1 only, install Debian on
your system with it, and then download & install the rest of what you
need from your running Debian system.

Cheers,

No problem - before adding the mirror to the list, I just wanted some
"independent confirmation" that the images are really there.

BTW, it would be nice if you could allow access from debian.org as
well. Sometime in the future, we might implement an automated mirror
script which checks whether mirrors are up to date.

Cheers,

  Richard
