(Not that it really matters...) I wasn't overly happy about using jigdo-area, but couldn't think of anything more appropriate. The reason not to call it simply "jigdo" is that the jigdo-area contains one or more versioned directories, each of which contains a jigdo and a snapshot directory, so having jigdo appear at two levels in the hierarchy seemed likely to give rise to confusion. I'm open to suggestions for a better name for where we keep jigdo/snapshot combinations, but I don't think "jigdo" is it. cvs commit of custom isolinux
Hi! The custom isolinux that I have commited now into debian-cd is version 1.67 of isolinux (which should be the most stable one) with a change so that it outputs a message explaining the user that he can boot of cds 2-5 if something fails. The output of isolinux when booting correctly looks like this now: -- Debian Installation CD -- In case of problems, try booting one of the other CDs (2 to 5). Read the installation manual for more details. ISOLINUX 1.67/debian-cd 2002-05-14 Copyright (C) 1994-2001 H. Peter Anvin Hope this is fine with everyone, if anybody is against this or wants to change something on the text, just comment it. I would appreciate any details about ISOLINUX 1.72 or later failing where 1.67 succeeds. This is critically important, for obvious reasons. 1.70 and .71 had serious, known, problems. -hpa -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? > I would appreciate any details about ISOLINUX 1.72 or later failing > where 1.67 succeeds. This is critically important, for obvious reasons. Well, I don't have any, I just chose 1.67 following a conservative politic, after all at 1.70 you had made "Major code restructuring" so I didn't know how stable would 1.72 be. Besides, in the distro we are still at 1.66 version, I would have used this one but as 1.67 had a bugfix I chose that one. If you think that 1.72 works better than 1.67 let me know and if the other agree we'll change it. > 1.70 and .71 had serious, known, problems. That's why I didn't want to go for 1.72, maybe some unknown problems were still around, so I went conservative, that's all. RE: woody
If you really want to, you can get pre-release images with Jigdo. Jigdo: http://www.debian.org/CD/jigdo-cd/ Image location: http://cdimage.debian.org/jigdo-area/current/jigdo/i386/ It is very usable at the moment, but not ready for release.
