Re: Debian Linux CD's [Required in Gujarat, India.]

2002-03-12 Thread Saugata Chakrabarti

Dear Vitarag,
I will send you a set of CDs in your address. For this U don't have
to pay any one anything.
Please tell me what version of Debian you want?

I have 4 CD Debian Potato 2.2 r3 [non US also]
I can manage Debian Potato 2.2 r5 also.
[In this case I have to send you 3 CD (non US only)]

I also use Debian woody, Unstable [6 CD]
It is still in Beta version, I have an old snap [may be before last
November], but in woody You can have lots of device support by default.
If you are using I810 motherboard, then in Woody, you can configure the
display very easily.

I would suggest Potato 2.2 r3 for you, as you are going to use it for
System administration training.

You tell me your choice, I will send you the CDs in your address. Let me
check whether EMS service is there in you place or not.

Best of luck,

From
Saugata.
Chennai.

ps: sorry to cross post the mail across the lists, Prabhu, I don't have
ready 2.2 r5, If you have can you give it to me .. please ..

Re: Debian could do better in India ....

2002-03-12 Thread Saugata Chakrabarti

In India,
GT-CDROM in Bangalore is the local stockist of Linux CDs in South India.
http://www.gtcdrom.com/Debian-GNULinux.html
The Debian version in their stock is 2.2 r3, and it is available also.

>>"if our website was available in Hindi and other Indian languages"
Great Idea,

FYI:
In India, Ten blank CDs cost 135 INR, [equivalent == less than 3 USD].
So, one full distribution may comes within this
:-)

One Dollars Debian ;-)

let see

Name changed

2002-03-12 Thread Andreas Kansok

Hallo CD-Team,

I has to change the name of my company from galileoo.com[munications] into
kansok.com[munications]. Could you change it in your list too?
Also domain an Email changes from galileoo.com in kansok.com.

The URL of the Debian-Site in your list is useless, because link directly
point into a shopsystem. The right URL is now: http://kansok.com/shop/

Thanks.

Polish vendor info out of date.

2002-03-12 Thread Regis

Hello,

I was trying to get Debian CD and contacted Polish vendor mentioned on
your site (NetArt) however I was informed that they no longer deal in
Debian distribution hence information on this page is out of date.
Just writing this in case you'd like to update.

The information that was available to me. In the last weeks, I had
someone in India who contacted me privately, asking how/where to get
Debian CDs, and upon looking through debian.org/CD, I didn't find a
lot about India.

It's great to know that there's such good support through LUGs!

*Please* ensure that information about this and other sources of
Debian CDs in India is added to the Debian website! See
 for more info.

Cheers,

Please have a look at .

(Actually, since you appear to be new to Linux, I recommend you do
*not* try to download it, but instead order a finished CD.
contains a list of Debian CD
vendors.)

The CD contains a manual which details the installation process. This
manual is also available at
.
