Works fine here!

To actually get a file, you've also got to specify a local directory,
unless:

this version works differently, which I don't know.

Hello,

over the last days, I've finished the work on the new cdimage website,
the result can be viewed at . 
Comments welcome!

I went through all the pages on the current site and in part copied
the text over, in part rewrote things. I also updated the information
for woody in many places, made thumbnails for the CD cover art,
checked which of the mirrors are still present, updated large sections
of the FAQ, inserted a few links to the install docs on www.d.o etc
etc...

Last but not least, I also inserted humble plugs for my jigdo scheme
in various places ;-) Since jigdo isn't quite there yet, I've changed
it for now to clearly say so on the main page.

Phil and also Anne (as former maintainer of the WWW pages), is this
fit to replace the main cdimage website now? I think we should move
the old stuff to an "old" directory or similar for the moment. Also,
Phil, I'll need to be added to the appropriate group. :)

error with burned image

I am very much a newbie at debian and linux in general, and burning images 
to cd for that matter.

I downloaded the cd image for 2.4r4 for powerpc, burned it and booted my 
blue and white g3 server, but received this message:


Error message:
Welcome to yaboot version 0.9
Wrong partition 1 signature
Config file read, 528 bytes
Debian GNU/Linux PowerPC (potato)
boot: 
Loading kernel ..
Wrong partition 1 signature

Image not found.try again
WARNING ! default_close-called !

Did I do something wrong when I burned the image?  Or is it something else.

Any help is very much appreciated,

I'm assuming you're talking about 2.2r4.

the first thing to check is if it's 2.2r4 or 2.2.r4.1.  the latter was
recently released to fix booting problems (or so i understand) on powerpc.

if you have the former, the quickest solution might be to download
the new image, burn that and use it instead.

I really like the content, but I'ld rather see it having the same
look as the rest of the debian.org sites so we have a consistent
look & feel everywhere.

I agree, altough the debian cd icon at the upper-left is very nice and
should appear somewhere.

Nice site, the only thing that grated on my nerves was this:

Please do not download CD images with your web browser in the way
you do with other files!!!

One exclimation point will do.

Also, on the netinst page, s/At one point/At some point/
