Mirror problems

2000-11-12 Thread Philip Charles

The current mirror at ftp.debian.org fails mirrorcheck when building
potato CDs.

The problem is with locales (several) where the the package name does not
match the name in Packages. Cure, run dpkg-scanpackages?

I think there is a similar problem with the source.

The packages are in ../main/admin.

I think you ran your mirror at the wrong time.

Downloaded for sourceforge and debian.org yesterday. Removed Packages and
Sources and checked with debian.ord a few minutes ago. Still the same
turkey with mirrorcheck, ie,

File dists/potato/main/binary-i386/admin/locales_2.1.3-13.deb can't be
found ...
File dists/potato/main/binary-all/admin/locale-ja_18.deb can't be
found ...
File dists/potato/main/binary-all/admin/locale-zh_0.9+0.05-5.deb can't be
found

These files have diferent version numbers in Packages.

Done and commited and uploaded debian-cd_2.2.3 to unstable. Please check
if it does correct all the problems mentionned on this list. The upload
should close all bugs except one wishlist.

Because of this, maybe it's better not to provide updated cd images

I don't know -- you'd have to ask debian-cd. In general, it should be
listed as part of the source for the debian-cd package or CVS area or
whatever.

Ok, I fixed it, using the scripts and invokation methods from webwml.
Mail regarding debian-cd is sent to the the debian-cd list. Mail
regarding CVSROOT is sent to me. All the rest comes to the list.

Well, as I said, I did enable a modified log_accum; I hope it doesn't
have the security problems which caused us to disable this before.

Right now it is. We can change that but it would require creation of
a new list. I think having peopel setup filtering on their own is
probably more appropriate.

Sorry, I reversed things, the locales_2.1.2-10.deb package is in the
mirror; the Packages file says that it is locales_2.1.3-13.deb
Similarly with locale-ja and locale-zh. The same problem occurs with the
source.

I checked my mirror against ftp.debian.org about two hours ago, no change.
The only possibility is that ftp.debian.org has not caught up with master.

Look, I am sitting with a shell on ftp.debian.org right naw and the mirror
is fine:

cat /org/ftp.debian.org/ftp/dists/stable/main/binary-i386/Packages
[..]

Package: locales
Priority: standard

Installed-Size: 8569

Conflicts: localebin, wg15-locale
Filename: dists/potato/main/binary-i386/admin/locales_2.1.3-13.deb

/org/ftp.debian.org/ftp/dists/potato/main/binary-i386/admin/locales_2.1.3-13.deb

The right file is there with the right hash and size in the right location
similarly for the rest:

saens{jgg}~#grep -i /local

There is no problem here, your mirror is in error.

OK you win. I did a visual check and they are there both at debian.org
and sourceforge. Will try updating yet again.
