Bug#894196: onioncat: Does not support Hidden Services v3

2018-03-27 Thread intrigeri
Package: onioncat
Version: 0.2.2+svn569-2
Severity: serious
Tags: upstream

OnionCat does not support "next generation" hidden services (v3).
IMO this makes OnionCat unsuitable for inclusion in Buster.
For details, see
https://lists.torproject.org/pipermail/tor-talk/2018-March/044098.html

Taking a step back, I've added OnionCat to Debian in 2012 to provide
a building block for polished, higher-level, user-facing systems such
as peer-to-peer VoIP over Tor (thanks to OnionCat enabling UDP over
Tor). This could have broadened the scope of application of Tor
substantially but it's now clear that nobody picked up this challenge
(I certainly didn't). popcon is fairly low and has stopped increasing
~4 years ago. I see people working on other approaches to this
problem, such as Mumble in Tails Server and VoIP solutions that are
interoperable with other, already popular protocols (as opposed to an
OnionCat-based approach that is bound to connect OnionCat users only).
So I'm hereby stopping this experiment and plan to orphan this package
at some point. If someone has another strong motive to keep OnionCat
in Debian, you're much welcome to take it over, as part of the
pkg-privacy team or outside :)

Cheers,

Felix Geyer mentioned that the root cause is that the

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from
'testing'.
It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails
because it tries to overwrite other packages files without declaring a
Breaks+Replaces relation.

Hi,

I just ACCEPTed libtgvoip from NEW but noticed it was missing
attribution in debian/copyright for at least common_audio/fft4g.c
which looks like an embedded code copy.

I would also prefer to see some clarification in debian/copyright
about common_audio/signal_processing/spl_sqrt_floor.c.

(This is not exhaustive so please check over the entire package
carefully and address these on your next upload.)

Regards,

debian/patches/Modify-build-scripts.patch still sets -msse2.

It shouldn't, it should just use the gcc defaults
(which are SSE2 on amd64 and no SSE on i386).

You wasn't the only, also I had this issue with older cinnamon and I
hadn't anymore with cinnamon 3.4 and 3.6 I used in latest year.
The issue is 99.9% solved in 3.4.2 with the commit added in the testing
build I did for stable but I was unable to reproduce it on fast test on
Stretch vm I did.
I wrote to trying to have confirm from others that had the issue and if
confirmed request to put the build with fix as proposed update for stable.

Bug#894199: meson build-depends on pure virtual packages (armhf cross compiler)

2018-03-27 Thread Matthias Klose
Package: src:meson
Version: 0.45.1-1
Severity: serious
Tags: sid buster

meson build-depends on pure virtual packages (armhf cross compiler), and
therefore it can select a random armhf cross compiler, e.g.
gcc-8-arm-linux-gnueabihf, and then the builds fails with these tests.

Please specify the build dependency as | < virtual package>.

  g++-arm-linux-gnueabihf | c++-compiler-arm-linux-gnueabihf

So you know that the arm-linux-gnueabihf-g++ command is available.

Bug#894204: libpython3.6-stdlib,libpython3.7-stdlib: missing Breaks: python3-distutils (<< 3.6.5~rc1-2)

2018-03-27 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: libpython3.6-stdlib,libpython3.7-stdlib
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts replaces-without-breaks
Control: found -1 3.7.0~b2-2
Control: found -1 3.6.5~rc1-3

Hi,

during a test with piuparts and DOSE tools I noticed your package causes
removal of files that also belong to another package.
This is caused by using Replaces without corresponding Breaks.

The installation sequence to reproduce this problem is

  apt-get install python3-distutils/testing
  # (1)
  apt-get install libpython3.6-stdlib/sid
  apt-get remove libpython3.6-stdlib
  # (2)

The list of installed files at points (1) and (2) should be identical,
but the following files have disappeared:

  /usr/lib/python3.6/distutils/__init__.py
  /usr/lib/python3.6/distutils/__pycache__/__init__.cpython-36.pyc
  /usr/lib/python3.6/distutils/__pycache__/version.cpython-36.pyc
  /usr/lib/python3.6/distutils/version.py

This is a serious bug violating policy 7.6, see
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/#overwriting-files-and-replacing-packages-replaces
and also see the footnote that describes this incorrect behavior
https://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ (old: footnotes.html#f53)
[footnote permalink broken (#879048), search for /To see why/]

The $OFFENDER package has the following relationships with $VICTIM:

  Conflicts: n/a
  Breaks:n/a
  Replaces: python3-distutils (<< 3.6.5~rc1-2)

>From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

Bug#893577: sbuild-debian-developer-setup: Should not rely on files in /usr/share/doc

probably the right thing to do would be to let the
sbuild-debian-developer-setup package directly install sbuild-update-all into
/etc/cron.daily/sbuild-debian-developer-setup-update-all. If necessary,
sbuild-update-all has to be adapted such that it will not barf if the user has
not yet run sbuild-debian-developer-setup.

This would mean that the same copy of sbuild-update-all would potentially exist
twice on a system, but I don't think that's much of a problem.

Michael, can you take care of this?

Thanks!

cheers, josch

I hope I've found the upstream commit that fixes this. If it turns out
not to, I'll apply the workaround that you suggested instead.

Bug#894138: gitlab: 10.5.6 Problem compiling assets on post-install

2018-03-27 Thread Pirate Praveen
Control: severity -1 important

Reducing severity because it appears a local setup issue.

The problem is, I'm not able to reproduce it here locally :( Can you try
to create a clean sid lxc/docker container or virtual machine and
install it there?

Or just make sure apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade, just to avoid
any other packages causing issues.

sprockets should not be coming from this path. It looks like you have
locally installed these gems.

root@gitlab:~# ls /var/lib/gems/2.5.0/
root@gitlab:~#

I have an empty directory here. The PATH for sprockets should be
/usr/lib/ruby/vendor_ruby/sprockets/manifest.rb

Bug#874146: diagnosis and workaround

2018-03-27 Thread anonym
AFAICT this is a new/similar instance of #814411, i.e. just a path issue for
libjvm.so. For instance, rjb works for me again if I do:

mkdir -p /usr/lib/jvm/jre/lib/amd64/server/
ln -s /usr/lib/jvm/java-9-openjdk-amd64/lib/server/libjvm.so \
  /usr/lib/jvm/jre/lib/amd64/server/libjvm.so

So I guess 0005-Always-JVM_TYPE-to-server.patch should be updated some how.

Bug#874146: FTBFS with Java 9: all tests fail

Hi Lunar,

FWIW I see exactly the same error ("Constants DL and Fiddle is not
defined") when trying to run the Tails test suite (that uses rjb)
on current sid.

This package is marked for autoremoval from testing on 31 March due to
that bug.

In an up-to-date sid chroot it seems that the build now fails much
earlier:

dh build --buildsystem=ruby --with ruby

But re-running dpkg-buildpackage allows the build of the extension
to complete (I guess something's wrong in dependency ordering in
debian/rules, or something).

And then the same error as Chris reported happens again.
That failure happens when our replacement for the load method calls the
original one:
https://salsa.debian.org/ruby-team/ruby-rjb/blob/master/debian/patches/0005-Fill-JAVA_HOME-with-a-sensible-value-if-not-set-when.patch
But dropping that patch does not change anything.

Cheers,

This package fails to build with default-jdk pointing to openjdk-9-jdk.
Please fix it, so that we can start the transition to Java 9.
The wiki has some common problems and their solutions:
https://wiki.debian.org/Java/Java9Pitfalls

Using _ as an identifier is not allowed at -source 9; use older -source
or fix the code.

The package is a very old version; upstream fixed the code > 6 years
ago, so updating would probably fix it.

However, Xournal has been removed from testing. If libgnomecanvas is
staying in Buster, then shouldn't Xournal also?

Bug#894213: Tried to upgrade snakemake to latest upstream version - same problem

2018-03-27 Thread Andreas Tille
control: tags -1 help

Hi,

I've upgraded snakemake in Git to the latest upstream version. It needs
a new Build-Depends (python-datrie - I just filed a new ITP and than
realised it is just ITPed in #828741 ... I will sort this out). The bad
news is that the bug reported for the existing version also persists in
the new version.

Kevin, Chris: Can you have a look?

Kind regards

   Andreas.

I am not the maintainer of this package, so I don't know what the
decisions at that time were. But most packages in jessie then depended
on mysql-client. And since mariadb-client did not provide mysql-client
as it is in stretch, the dependencies would result in the installation
of mysql-client which conflicts with mariadb-client etc. ..

So, sorry this is not a bug in postfixadmin. And since jessie is
oldstable there is no way to upload a new package just to change
anything in the dependencies.

If you apt ist configured normaly, it should have asked you about the
removes. It is not removing packages if you do not explicitly say yes
(or have in you config the equivalent).

Please keep this issue open in the bug tracker for the package it
was filed for. If a fix in another package is required, please
file a bug for the other package (or clone), and add a block in this
package. Please keep the issue open until the package can be built in
a follow-up test rebuild.

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-7/g++-7, but succeeds to build with gcc-6/g++-6. The
severity of this report may be raised before the buster release.
There is no need to fix this issue in time for the stretch release.

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/gcc7-20170126/gnash_0.8.11~git20160608-1.3_unstable_gcc7.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 7, either set CC=gcc-7 CXX=g++-7 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t=experimental install g++

Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures with
-Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols files.
For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide at
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-7/porting_to.html

Hi,

the following vulnerability was published for jackson-databind.

CVE-2018-7489[0]:
| FasterXML jackson-databind before 2.8.11.1 and 2.9.x before 2.9.5
| allows unauthenticated remote code execution because of an incomplete
| fix for the CVE-2017-7525 deserialization flaw. This is exploitable by
| sending maliciously crafted JSON input to the readValue method of the
| ObjectMapper, bypassing a blacklist that is ineffective if the c3p0
| libraries are available in the classpath.

If you fix the vulnerability please also make sure to include the
CVE (Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures) id in your changelog entry.

Dear Maintainer,

i2p-router depends on glassfish-javaee which is going to be removed. Could
you try using alternate dependencies providing the same JavaEE APIs instead
please? It looks like i2p-router requires the JSTL wich is now provided by
the libtaglibs-standard-*-java packages.

Thank you,

Package: 2to3
Version: 3.6.5~rc1-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

2to3/3.6.5~rc1-1 depends on python3-lib2to3 (>= 3.6.5~rc1-3~) which
doesn't seem to exist yet. piuparts demonstrates this failing:
https://piuparts.debian.org/sid/source/p/python3-defaults.html

Looking at its source code, it seems that this is a versioned dependency
on @UPSTRVER@, which is assumed to be a version number that is valid for
src:python@VER@ and its binary packages. However, 2to3 uses @UPSTRVER@
as a version qualifier for python3-lib2to3, which is built by
src:python3-stdlib-extensions and so cannot be assumed to have exactly
the same versioning scheme as python@VER@.

python3's Suggests on python3-tk has the same bug, but much less
seriously because it's only a Suggests.

Putting key packages through piuparts before upload would probably be
a good idea, particularly when there are transitions going on around them.

Both packages have the same maintainer!

Al, do you want libevocom removed from Debian too?

Please keep this issue open in the bug tracker for the package it
was filed for. If a fix in another package is required, please
file a bug for the other package (or clone), and add a block in this
package. Please keep the issue open until the package can be built in
a follow-up test rebuild.

The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-7/g++-7, but succeeds to build with gcc-6/g++-6. The
severity of this report may be raised before the buster release.
There is no need to fix this issue in time for the stretch release.

The full build log can be found at:
http://people.debian.org/~doko/logs/gcc7-20170126/yp-tools_3.3-5_unstable_gcc7.log
The last lines of the build log are at the end of this report.

To build with GCC 7, either set CC=gcc-7 CXX=g++-7 explicitly,
or install the gcc, g++, gfortran, ... packages from experimental.

  apt-get -t=experimental install g++

Common build failures are new warnings resulting in build failures with
-Werror turned on, or new/dropped symbols in Debian symbols files.
For other C/C++ related build failures see the porting guide at
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-7/porting_to.html

Meanwhile there is #881704 (ROM; abandoned upstream from Gürkan Myczko)
and #884509 (reporting that ttf-marvosym still has rdeps.

So I guess this one here can be closed.

No :-)

This bug at severity serious will cause this package to be
auto-removed from testing soon. Therefore, this bug has a purpose and
should not be closed. If this bug is closed, then this package will
re-migrate to Testing 5 days later!

Bug#894262: regexxer: Intent to remove package from Debian

2018-03-27 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Source: regexxer
Version: 0.10-3
Severity: serious
Tags: sid buster

regexxer was orphaned 8 years ago. [1]

Its last upstream release, 0.10, was in 2011.

Although there has been some activity in git [2], I think we can consider this
software unmaintained if it never does releases.

It is blocking the eventual removal of gconf from Debian. Therefore, I intend
to file a removal bug for this package soon.

Thanks,
Jeremy Bicha

Bug#894261: regexxer: Depends on gconf

Version: 0.10-3
Severity: serious
User: pkg-gnome-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org
Usertags: oldlibs gconf

Your package depends or build-depends on gconf, but gconf will be removed from
Debian soon.

gconf's last release was about 5 years ago. It has been replaced by
gsettings (provided in Debian by source glib2.0 )

Please try to port your package away from gconf. Otherwise, please consider
requesting that your package be removed from Debian to help us complete this
goal.

Bug#894258: python-asgi-ipc FTBFS with python3-msgpack 0.5.1

Looks like more fallout from
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=893844
but in this case presumably it'll need sourceful changes.

codesearch.debian.net suggests that this might be a more widespread
problem (but hopefully not all the search hits are release-critical).

This is only a test issue, the resulting package is fine if
python-asgi-ipc is built with nocheck.

python-asgi-ipc is the only package where I found this specific problem.

Your package build-depends on gconf, but gconf will be removed from Debian soon.

gconf's last release was about 5 years ago. It has been replaced by
gsettings (provided in Debian by source glib2.0 )

It looks like all you need to do here is Build-Depend on libglib2.0-dev instead
of libgconf2-dev. (No patch attached but this is a trivial fix.)

Hi,

ecj depends or build-depends on GCJ. GCJ has been dropped upstream
since GCC 7, so we are dropping it from Debian. Thus please either
drop support for GCJ if you are just building an alternative package
with GCJ support (e.g. ant-gcj, ecj-gcj) or switch to default-jdk /
default-jre as appropriate.

Cheers, Emilio

Hi,

ecj depends or build-depends on GCJ. GCJ has been dropped upstream
since GCC 7, so we are dropping it from Debian. Thus please either
drop support for GCJ if you are just building an alternative package
with GCJ support (e.g. ant-gcj, ecj-gcj) or switch to default-jdk /
default-jre as appropriate.

Cheers, Emilio

esound's removal from Testing already happened in early January. This
package and the abandoned synaesthesia are the last packages to block
esound's removal from unstable.

Please don't send unnanounced non-maintainer uploads - note that this
package can't ever be usefully installed or used at the moment as the
rest of the NIS suite isn't split out into separate packages, the RC
bugs are useful for keeping it out of releases.
