Hi Marcus,

Thanks for reporting this!

Can you provide a patch? I am just sponsoring twiki and I am not
familiar enough with it yet. Sven is on holidays, so he might be away
from the computer at the moment.

But I can upload a fix, reopen this bug, or we can just open a new one,
as this is no longer a security issue as I understand it, just a bug
introduced by this security fix.

Thanks for your input, and happy hacking!

Clemens,
I am downgrading this bug, since I cannot reproduce it, and nobody
else has reported it. Could you provide the requested information:

apt-cache policy iceape
apt-get install mozilla
apt-get install seamonkey mozilla

thanks, cu andreas

signal 11 (SIGSEV). The shell prints out "ktrack: ERROR: Communication
problem with ktrack, it probably crashed.", and a debug report shows

Bug#327995: marked as done (ktrack: uninstallable; needs rebuild for the Qt/KDE transition)

2006-12-31 Thread Debian Bug Tracking System
Your message dated Sun, 31 Dec 2006 11:32:03 +

Package: ktrack
Version: 0.3.0-alpha1-6
Severity: grave
Tags: sid

Hello,

This is a grave bug filed against your package because it depends on
libqt3c102-mt, which no longer exists, thus rendering yor package
uninstallable in unstable. As part of the C++ ABI transition, this
library has moved to the libqt3-mt package.

Simply recompiling and uploading your package should be enough to fix
this; as per this mail [1], you need not bump your Qt, kdelibs or aRts
build-dependencies. Beware, though, that that may not be the case for
all the involved librares. Also, make sure that you build the package
in an up to date and clean sid environment, so that final dependencies
are correct. Please do this as soon as possible in order to accelerate
  the Qt/KDE transition to testing.

[1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/09/msg0.html

Perhaps you find that your package fails to compile with gcc4. If
that's the case, there's probably a bug about it in the BTS, and it
may include a patch. If not (or if you have doubts about the
correctness of the patch), you may be able to find a fix in upstream's
CVS, or in the Ubuntu distribution. If your package fails only in arm,
m68k, and hppa, see instructions in the above mail.

Finally, if there's a strong reason for which your package should not
be NMUed, please note so in this bug report. Prospective NMUers will
read your reasoning, and will decide if it's strong enough to delay
  their upload.

Thanks for your cooperation, and happy hacking!

P.S.: There may be an already reported bug against this package for
this very same reason. I've checked for that, and will be merging the
bugs soon. The reason for still filing this bug was to have the
opportunity of including the small bits of information above. I
  apologize for the inconvenience.

These have been dealt with: there's a configure option --disable-dogs
that can be used, and then the resources removed from prboom.wad. I've
got this part done.

I've attached "output.txt" which identifies which graphics are
problematic. first column is graphic lump (+.gif suffix); second column
is lump width; third is lump height; fourth is the text of the lump.

I'm now going to try and generate alternatives.

Bug#404222: yet another update to twiki debian package

2006-12-31 Thread Marcus C. Gottwald

Well, I'd change the error message to contain information about
the reason for the denial of the request:

  Sven's version:
params => [ 'redirect', 'unsafe redirect to '.$url ]);

  A suggestion:
params => [ 'redirect', 'unsafe redirect to '.$url.': '.$host.' does not
match DefaultUrlHost' ]);

I would hope that any TWiki admin would be able to find
DefaultUrlHost in /etc/twiki and note the difference.

Since I don't fully understand the intentions behind the regular
expression matching on the redirection target and don't know the
code creating and handling this piece of information, I can't
suggest a good replacement. What happens if the (malicious)
redirect points to a target such as "bad.server" instead of
"http://bad.server"; (if this is possible at all) -- which
wouldn't match the expression anyway but might be supported by a
lot of browsers and thus be successful?

Cheers, Marcus

Could you compare the config.* files from a configure run on your
powerpc in gstreamer0.10 with the files from the G3 run in #404876?

I hope this could help pin-point the relevant test that we need to
force to the G3 value on the buildds; perhaps it can even be moved to
 runtime.

   Thanks,

Bug#404888: Status of KeyFile regressions in glib2.0

2006-12-31 Thread Loïc Minier
Hi,

First, I'm the one who uploaded the new upstream release of glib2.0
with the regressions you noticed in Gnucash. I apologize for not
testing this new release for a longer time: it only spent a single day
in experimental and on my system; Sébastien Bacher suggested that I
should test core libs such as glib2.0 for a longer time before upload.

(Please note that the new upstream release did not bump shlibs, so I
didn't expect it to hijack the etch release cycle; it still caused an
 inconvenient situation obviously.)

Given that the problem not only hit gnome-vfs2 but also Gnucash, I can
 only agree that the strictness in KeyFile checks is too intrusive;
hence I've added a patch reverting to the older checks but also
outputting warnings when the new checks fail. (Attached.)

Finally, since glib's upstream added support for key names with MIME
types chars such as "/" and "+" for gnome-vfs2, I also added a patch to
silently support key names with spaces in the middle of the name (not
at the beginning or at the end) as I think this might be relatively
 common. (Attached as well.)

Please let me know if the patches still cause regressions or introduce
new regressions via bug reports against glib2.0.

It would be best if Gnucash switched as soon as possible to stricter
 key names.

The first patch will probably be reverted in the lenny cycle, and the
second patch might be kept if upstream merges it.

 Happy new year!

   Bye,

Bug#404888: Bug#402692: Status of KeyFile regressions in glib2.0

If such a patch is in, and can be verified to work by the people who
reported the bug against gnucash, then I have no objections (on this
score) to the migration of glib into testing. Can you let me know when
an upload is made so that it can be conveniently tested?

The upstream bug in bugzilla is looking like upstream is not going to
allow spaces in keynames, though this may change. I understand that
gnucash upstream plans to talk directly to them.

gnucash upstream is working on the problem. However, a serious
deficiency with this particular change was that it did not make any
sensible *conversion* possible. When new strictness rules are created
out of whole cloth, it is crucial to provide for transition, and not
just decree a new rule. It appears that glib is very unlikely to do
anything to help with the transition, which creates major extra work.
If you could impress this upon the upstream maintainers, it would be
great.

> The first patch will probably be reverted in the lenny cycle, and the

If the patch to support spaces gets reverted, can we please at least
coordinate that with gnucash? (That is, please don't just revert it
when the mood strikes; check and see whether the upstream gnucash fix is
in place in Debian unstable first.)

Ok I generated alternatives; the packages for sponsoring are at
. Moritz mailed to
say he'd do it, but in case someone else beats him to it...

Also attached to this mail is the final script used to generate the
replacement lumps (small alteration). The palette issue I alluded to
earlier was solved by ensuring the base image had the right palette and
not switching between formats.

I had uploaded at the time of my previous message; the files are now
 visible in incoming.d.o.

I've proposed using the patch to revert to the previous level of
compatibility in the 2.12.x series of glib in the upstream bug report
(to effectively postpone and warn of the change until the next major
 glib release).

I seriously doubt the changes in -21 vs -20 would have affected

This bug is no longer RC for etch, initrd-tools will be reintroduced in

It will be dropped after etch anyway, so the bug still needs to be fixed for

Package: jabber
Version: 1.4.3-3
Severity: important

Hi,

when (re-)compiling the package with the current default compiler
gcc-4.0, jabberd segfaults when I register a new user. I'm attaching the
jabberd debug traces and a gdb stack trace. Is this a broken library
interaction (libpth, broken stack)?

bye,
  Roland

Hm, I was under the wrong impression that libapache2-modxslt needs also
the manpage. Ok, reverting this change now.

Version: 1.4.3-3
Severity: normal

After upgrade from sarge to etch I wanted to purge all packages that are
not shipped with etch. Doing so for libpth2 the jabber package became a
candidate for removal, too. The reason for this is "Depends: libpth2"
while this package is now a virtual one and was replaced by libpth20.
Therefore the upgrade path is somewhat broken, please just replace
libpth2 by libpth20 in the Depends: clause. This should be safe since
libpth20 declares itself to be the successor of libpth2 (via Provides:).

Same story: works for me, PyGTK is provided by the python-gtk2 package.

It looks like you rather have a problem with your python setup.

Works for me: the pygst module is in the python-gst0.10 package, which
you have installed, so you should have it in

/usr/share/pycentral/python-gst0.10/site-packages/pygst.py

Could you check that file?

Could you attach the config.* files from this run? It would be
interesting to compare them to a run on a G4 machine to see what
 differs.
