Bug#344410: acknowledged by developer (Re: Bug#344410: procmail: add a way to change env. var. on cmd line)

From the manpage: > > If both -p and -m are specified, the list of preset environment > variables shrinks to just: LOGNAME, HOME, SHELL, ORGMAIL and MAILDIR. the problem is that i'm trying to set VERBOSE and LOGFILE, so i can't use -m > > If that's still not enough you could even use something like this > in your .procmailrc file: > > :0 > * MYMAILDIR ?? . > { MAILDIR=$MYMAILDIR } > > and this on the command line: > > procmail MYMAILDIR=foo < some-message > > > So I don't think we need a new procmail feature for this. ok, so i could do VERBOSE=off :0 * MYVERBOSE ?? . { VERBOSE=$MYVERBOSE } and call procmail MYVERBOSE=on < some-message right ? but all that is a workaround to set env var on the command line... i believe overriding env. var. with values in the rc file is wrong, if you specify them on the command line, it means that you want to change it, right ? in what case, if you call procmail with the -p option, would you like your env. var. wiped ? in every other tools the command line switchs and env. var. have precedence over the config file... thanks -- xavier -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Search was made with keywords kuiserver, initrd and $ I've also checked my config (.config, .local and .kde) and found nothing. * What led up to the situation? update to last kde packages and systemd * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? nothing My best to the team Xavier (zeroheure) -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.14-1-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages kde-runtime-data depends on: ii perl 5.18.2-4 kde-runtime-data recommends no packages. kde-runtime-data suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#690134: unblock: polyorb/2.8~20110207-5
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: unblock Please unblock package polyorb There is a bug against libpolyorb3 (#688299) in version 2.8~20110207-4. Version 2.8~20110207-5 remove the diversion and the manpage that was diverted and this solve the bug. The polyorb.7 manpage doesn't document any binary and isn't very usefull so the changes are quite small. Also the polyorb-doc (no changes in it) contains much more information than the polyorb.7 manpage so users still have access to the informations from the removed manpage. unblock polyorb/2.8~20110207-5 -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash [The following lists of changes regard files as different if they have different names, permissions or owners.] Files in first .changes but not in second - -rw-r--r-- root/root /usr/share/man/man7/polyorb.7.gz -rwxr-xr-x root/root DEBIAN/preinst Control files of package libpolyorb-dbg: lines which differ (wdiff format) -- Depends: libpolyorb3 (= [-2.8~20110207-4),-] {+2.8~20110207-5),+} libpolyorb2-dev (= [-2.8~20110207-4)-] {+2.8~20110207-5)+} Version: [-2.8~20110207-4-] {+2.8~20110207-5+} Control files of package libpolyorb2-dev: lines which differ (wdiff format) --- Depends: libc6 (>= 2.4), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1), libgnat-4.6 (>= [-4.6.3-4),-] {+4.6.3-6),+} libpolyorb3 (= [-2.8~20110207-4),-] {+2.8~20110207-5),+} g++, gnat-4.6 Recommends: polyorb-servers (= [-2.8~20110207-4)-] {+2.8~20110207-5)+} Version: [-2.8~20110207-4-] {+2.8~20110207-5+} Control files of package libpolyorb3: lines which differ (wdiff format) --- Depends: libc6 (>= 2.4), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1), libgnat-4.6 (>= [-4.6.3-4)-] {+4.6.3-6)+} Installed-Size: [-21286-] {+21285+} Recommends: polyorb-servers (= [-2.8~20110207-4)-] {+2.8~20110207-5)+} Version: [-2.8~20110207-4-] {+2.8~20110207-5+} Control files of package polyorb-doc: lines which differ (wdiff format) --- Recommends: libpolyorb2-dev (= [-2.8~20110207-4)-] {+2.8~20110207-5)+} Version: [-2.8~20110207-4-] {+2.8~20110207-5+} Control files of package polyorb-servers: lines which differ (wdiff format) --- Depends: libc6 (>= 2.4), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.1.1), libgnat-4.6 (>= [-4.6.3-4),-] {+4.6.3-6),+} libpolyorb3 Version: [-2.8~20110207-4-] {+2.8~20110207-5+} diffstat for polyorb-2.8~20110207 polyorb-2.8~20110207 changelog|9 + libpolyorb3.manpages |1 - libpolyorb3.postrm | 10 -- libpolyorb3.preinst | 10 -- 4 files changed, 9 insertions(+), 21 deletions(-) diff -Nru polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/changelog polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/changelog --- polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/changelog 2012-06-13 23:48:28.0 +0200 +++ polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/changelog 2012-09-29 09:55:26.0 +0200 @@ -1,3 +1,12 @@ +polyorb (2.8~20110207-5) unstable; urgency=low + + * remove diversion of manpage polyorb.7 +the man page isn't put in any package since it contains general information + not very usefull +Closes: #688299 + + -- Xavier Grave Sat, 29 Sep 2012 09:48:41 +0200 + polyorb (2.8~20110207-4) unstable; urgency=low * remove the testsuite run as part of the build diff -Nru polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.manpages polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.manpages --- polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.manpages 2012-05-29 15:44:31.0 +0200 +++ polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.manpages 1970-01-01 01:00:00.0 +0100 @@ -1 +0,0 @@ -docs/polyorb.7 diff -Nru polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.postrm polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.postrm --- polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.postrm 2012-05-29 23:28:57.0 +0200 +++ polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.postrm 1970-01-01 01:00:00.0 +0100 @@ -1,10 +0,0 @@ -#! /bin/sh -# prostrm script for libpolyorb3 - -set -e - -dpkg-divert --package libpolyorb3 --remove --rename /usr/share/man/man7/polyorb.7.gz - -#DEBHELPER# - -exit 0 diff -Nru polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.preinst polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.preinst --- polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.preinst 2012-05-29 23:28:57.0 +0200 +++ polyorb-2.8~20110207/debian/libpolyorb3.preinst 1970-01-01 01:00:00.0 +0100 @@ -1,10 +0,0 @@ -#! /bin/sh -# preinst script for libpolyorb3 - -set -e - -d

I am a bit interested to know what platform you are running on. We have thousands of people running Net::Server on many platforms and you are the first to report the error. I personally have had some servers in use for over a decade, several getting millions of hits a month with spikes to hundreds of connections per second, but have not seen this issue. Either way - I think it is good to make the closure just depend on the value it already knows about at creation. I'm afraid changing it to explicitly look for CLD would break many platforms. So expect the fix in 2.008 which we'll release soon. Paul -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Bug#708180: [rt.cpan.org #85308] applications die() because of SIGCHLD vs. SIGCLD confusion
p...@seamons.com wrote (on RT): I'm not sure why the name difference. But, either way, if there is going to now be a new name, then handling it with the: $SIG{$sig} = sub{ $Net::Server::SIG::_SIG{$sig} = 1; }; is a start, but if CLD is also necessary, then we'll need to just register both CHLD and CLD to handle children. Not much overhead - but it would handle all cases. But before I go fully down that road, can you try the above patched line on your system and see if you get proper behavior? Thank you. After having installed kerberos [for another GSSAPI-related bug report], I checked using the script below --- BEGIN EXAMPLE --- #!/usr/bin/perl -w use Net::LDAP; use Authen::SASL qw(Cyrus); # CHECK 1: switch between Perl & Cyrus my $ldap = Net::LDAP->new('ldaps://SERVER.DOMAIN') or die($@); my $sh = Authen::SASL->new(mechanism => 'GSSAPI') or die "Can't get SASL handle\n"; $sh = $sh->client_new('ldap', 'SERVER.DOMAIN'); # CHECK 2: (un)comment this line my $mesg = $ldap->bind('cn=MANAGER,dc=ADPM,dc=DE', sasl => $sh); die "LDAP bind failed: ".$mesg->error.' ('.$mesg->code.')' if $mesg->code; print "Sorry, SIGPIPE cannot be reproduced\n"; --- END EXAMPLE -- I tried all 4 cases of CHECK A & CHECK B, but was not able to reproduce a SIGPIPE in any case. The only case when the script did not terminate successfully was when 'qw(Cyrus)' was used for CHECK A and the client_new() was not called in the script for CHECK B. In this case, the script died with the message "LDAP bind failed: generic failure (82) at ./crashit.pl line 9 ..." In all other cases the script ran successfully to the end. There never was a SIGPIPE. Can you please try to run the script with the 4 individual cases of CHECK A & B, and report back the individual results. Bug#679343: Fwd: [rt.cpan.org #84888] Segfaults when adding or deleting tainted values

If I set things up so >that > I can authenticate to the server without GSSAPI, it does not crash. you got me interested ;-) So I built a Kerberos installation and rewrote the script: --- BEGIN EXAMPLE --- #!/usr/bin/perl -w -T use Net::LDAP; use Authen::SASL qw(Cyrus); # CHECK A: switch between Perl & Cyrus use Net::LDAP::Entry; die("Usage $0 \n") unless @ARGV; my $ldap = Net::LDAP->new('ldap://SERVER.DOMAIN') or die($@); my $sh = Authen::SASL->new(mechanism => 'GSSAPI') or die "Can't get SASL handle\n"; #$sh = $sh->client_new('ldap', 'SERVER.DOMAIN');# CHECK B: (un)comment this line my $mesg = $ldap->bind('cn=MANAGER,DC=ADPM,DC=DE', sasl => $sh); die "LDAP bind failed: ".$mesg->error.' ('.$mesg->code.')' if $mesg->code; my $entry = Net::LDAP::Entry->new('cn=TEST-USER,DC=ADPM,DC=DE'); $entry->changetype('modify'); $entry->add(carLicense => $ARGV[0]); $mesg = $entry->update($ldap); print "Sorry, sgmentation fault cannot be reproduced\n"; die "LDAP modify failed: ".$mesg->error.' ('.$mesg->code.')' if $mesg->code; --- END EXAMPLE --- Using this updated script I tried to reproduce the segfault, again using perl-ldap 0.55 on Perl v5.14.2. In no case of my tests I was able to reproduce a semgentation fault. But there were different outcomes depending on the different combinations of the checks named CHECK A & CHECK B above: * when using 'qw(Perl)' in CHECK A, the script ran successfuly independent whether client_new() was called in CHECK B or nor * when using 'qw(Cyrus)' in CHECK A, and called client_new() in the script, then the script finished without problems too. * only when 'qw(Cyrus)' in CHECK A and not calling client_new() in the script, [i.e. in exact the configuration as shown above], the script died in line 12 with the message "LDAP bind failed: generic failure (82) at ./crashit.pl line 12, line 747." But it did not segfault. I guess the root cause here is that Authen::SASL::Cyrus cannot deal with an IP address as SASL host. The workaround here is to call client_new yourself. This is documented in the bind section of the Net::LDAP man page. Can you please test this updated script with all the 4 cases of CHECK A & B and report the individual results? Hi all, I've uploaded to alioth a new version, but I don't uderstand why /usr/share/doc/lemonldap-ng-doc/pages/documentation/1.3/applications isn't removed during upgrade: it contains only simple files that own to lemonldap-ng-doc:1.3.3. Both /usr/share/doc/lemonldap-ng-doc/pages/documentation/1.3/applications and /usr/share/doc/lemonldap-ng-doc/pages/documentation/1.3 are regular directories that own also to lemonldap-ng-doc:1.3.3 Could you take a look at this ?

So I wrote this script #!/bin/bash qdbus org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver /ScreenSaver Lock sudo pm-suspend pm-suspend is declared with NOPASSWD in sudoers of course

Bug#789356: release-notes: Titles in PDF versions are made of incorrect characters
Package: release-notes Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, Titles in PDF versions of the Jessie release notes are made of incorrect characters. For example : `QdkdÞrd Mnsdr enq CdahÞm 7 —idrrhd(... 21/ahs OB' instead of : `Release Notes for Debian 8 (jessie), 32-bit PC' For this reason, the release notes cannot be used properly, although paragraphes have not this problem. This happens only for PDF versions (not HTML or plain text ones). This happens at least for English and French versions. This happens for all architectures. I have double checked with another computer and another PDF reader, the problem is still there. Thank you in advance. Other files are provided: - by liblemonldap-ng-manager-perl for manager-apache2.conf - by liblemonldap-ng-handler.conf for handler-apache2.conf I can move this readme to lemonldap-ng meta package only.

Bug#611248: gnat-4.4: [amrel only] unexpected symbols added for shared library
Package: gnat-4.4 Version: 4.4.5-3 Severity: normal On the way to have polyorb on armel architecture I have some problems already related in [1]. I have tracked the problem down to the generation of libpolyorb-giop.so. The shared lib generation include a -lgnarl-4.4 in the command line. If I remove it the symbol problem is solved for this library. If I run exactly the same command on amd64 architecture with the -lgnarl-4.4 option I get a libpolyorb-giop.so without the symbols. May be it's a problem in ld, but at this level I don't know how to distinguish between gnat and ld. The above code sould > work even if it looks weird. Lemonldap::NG loads 2 modules (following the configuration): "authentication" and "userDB" in a loop where $_ points to one of those words (as a constant). In the test which failed, both inherits from Lemonldap::NG::Portal::_LDAP which contains "use Net::LDAP". > My proposal is to patch Constants.pm to use > > local $_; > while() { ... } > > instead of > > while() { ... } > > Any objections? Lemonldap::NG use this feature for a long time, and it has been tested many times on the CPAN (http://www.cpantesters.org/distro/L/Lemonldap-NG-Portal.html), and today only 1 Debian amd64 test has failed. I don't understand why... Best regards, Xavier -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

Bug#573174: libpolyorb1-dev: NF-27-IC22-022 in polyorb
Package: libpolyorb1-dev Version: 2.6.0~20090423-5 Severity: wishlist On the way to have homogeneous code I'm usually using -gnaty option for building my code. But If I use this option within polyorb environment I get some errors in the generated code. 2.7 version polyorb [1] implements some code to avoid this. The modifications to the code of po_gnatdist are rather simple [2], can we think about apply a simple patch to ship a polyorb 2.6.0~201003xx-1 version ? I'm willing to do this if I have a global agreement about this. Bug#578592: search should search partial words by default, instead of whole words
Package: zim Version: 0.46-1 Severity: normal in search, you can search for partial words, like *3005* when you go the page where it found P3005x, it can not find it, since the find box reads *3005*, and it does not match P3005x. i think the correct way to do it is to do partial match from the search box. 3005 will match p3005x, no need to add * at each end. then it will translate to 3005 in the find box, which will match again and correctly p3005x thanks -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-2-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages zim depends on: ii python2.5.4-2An interactive high-level object-o ii python-gtk2 2.16.0-1 Python bindings for the GTK+ widge ii python-simplejson 2.1.0-1simple, fast, extensible JSON enco ii python-support1.0.4 automated rebuilding support for P ii python-xdg0.19-1 Python library to access freedeskt Versions of packages zim recommends: pn python-gtkspell(no description available) Versions of packages zim suggests: pn bzr(no description available) pn dvipng (no description available) pn graphviz (no description available) ii scrot 0.8-11 command line screen capture utilit -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#559447: gnat-4.4: extends keyword in project files seems to be broken
Package: gnat-4.4 Version: 4.4.2-3 Severity: important extends key word in gnat projects seems to have problems when including other projects files. Bug#562088: ITP: libxmlezout -- XML EZ_Out is a small set of packages intended to aid the creation of XML-formatted output from within Ada programs.
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: xavier * Package name: libxmlezout Version : 1.06 Upstream Author : Marc A. Criley * URL : http://www.mckae.com/xmlEz.html * License : LGPL Programming Lang: Ada Description : XML EZ_Out is a small set of packages intended to aid the creation of XML-formatted output from within Ada programs. XML EZ Out is a small set of packages intended to aid the creation of XML-formatted output from within Ada programs. It basically wraps the tags and data provided to it with XML syntax and writes them to a user-supplied medium. This medium can be any sort of writable entity, such as a file, a memory buffer, or even a communications link, such as a socket. The only functionality required of the medium is that it supply a meaningful "Put" (for writing a string) and "New_Line" procedure. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
